About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of our HRMS (Human Resource Management System) platform. You'll lead a team of engineers building modules like payroll, attendance, leave management, performance appraisal, recruitment, and employee self-service, while ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with statutory/labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical architecture and design decisions for core HRMS modules (payroll engine, attendance/leave, onboarding, ESS/MSS portals, analytics).
- Lead a team of 20 engineers — mentor, do code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.
- Translate product/business requirements (from Product Managers/HR domain experts) into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure system design supports multi-tenancy, data privacy, compliance with SOC-2, ISO27001,GDPR and local data regulations as applicable).
- Drive sprint planning, technical estimation, and delivery timelines in coordination with Product and QA teams.
- Own API design and integrations (biometric devices, third-party payroll/tax systems, SSO, job portals, Slack/Teams, etc.).
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, especially around payroll batch processing and reporting at scale.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting for production systems.
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical design docs, and ensure documentation standards.




- Stay current with security best practices given sensitive employee/PII data handled by the system.
- Collaborate with DevOps/Infra teams on cloud cost optimization (AWS), scaling, and deployment strategy by having a working knowledge of AWS deployment

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong backend expertise in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js.
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) for caching/queuing.
- Frontend exposure (Angular / React/ /Vue) sufficient to guide full-stack decisions.
- Experience with microservices architecture, REST/GraphQL APIs, and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of security frameworks & security best practices for handling PII/sensitive data (encryption, RBAC, audit logging).
- Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, sprint ceremonies, and technical mentorship.
- Extensive usage of AI (eg claude) for code writing and deployment
- Excellent communication and team management skills — able to work directly with HR domain SMEs and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have

- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS products.
- Exposure to AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms.
- Exposure to reporting/BI tools (Power BI, Metabase) for HR analytics dashboards.
- Prior experience in HRMS, payroll, ERP, or fintech-adjacent domains strongly preferred — understanding of payroll calculations, compliance rules, and statutory reporting is a big plus.
- Experience scaling systems for large enterprise clients (10,000+ employees).
