Job Purpose The Power Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business applications, workflow automations, and data-driven solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and related Microsoft ecosystem tools. The role supports the organization’s digital transformation initiatives by streamlining business processes, improving operational efficiency, enhancing reporting and analytics capabilities, and enabling scalable low-code/no-code solutions aligned with business objectives.

The position works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and automation/AI teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop innovative solutions, integrate enterprise systems, and ensure secure, reliable, and user-friendly applications and automations. The role also contributes to governance, best practices, and continuous improvement within the Power Platform environment.

The IT Engineer – Power Platform Engineer reports to an IT Team Lead or Domain Lead depending on the Agile or DevOps organizational structure. The position collaborates closely with External Consultants and Vendors, Project Managers and Scrum Masters, IT Business Partners, Enterprise and Solution Architects, Global Process Owners/Global Process Design Leads, Process Coaches, and cross-functional technology and business teams.



The role has no direct or indirect reports but may coordinate contributors and delivery activities within enterprise AI programs and projects.

Key Activities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain business applications using Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps).
- Develop and optimize automated workflows and business process solutions using Power Automate to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI to support business intelligence and decision-making.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, Azure services, SQL databases, and third-party applications through APIs and connectors.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate functional needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Customize and configure Dataverse environments, entities, forms, views, security roles, and business rules.
- Ensure applications and workflows adhere to security, governance, compliance, and data protection standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues related to applications, workflows, integrations, and reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in solution architecture discussions and recommend best practices for Power Platform implementation and optimization.
- Support deployment management, version control, environment strategy, and application lifecycle management (ALM).
- Develop technical documentation, user guides, and support materials for developed solutions.
- Monitor solution performance and implement enhancements for scalability, reliability, and user experience improvements.
- Stay updated with recent Microsoft Power Platform features, AI capabilities, Copilot innovations, and industry best practices.
- Provide end-user training, technical support, and knowledge transfer to business teams where required.
- Work collaboratively with IT, data, security,



and business teams to drive digital transformation initiatives and continuous process improvement.

Experience

- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Professional experience ranges from 0–1 years for entry-level engineering profiles through 6+ years for advanced engineering and leadership-oriented levels depending on MM1–MM3 maturity classification.
- Strong technical expertise in Power Apps (Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps), Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Dataverse.
- Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, Azure services, REST APIs and third-party applications.
- Good understanding of Power Platform architecture and governance, Environment management and security models, Data modeling and relational databases, API integrations and connectors and Application lifecycle management (ALM).
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or TypeScript for customization Power Fx expressions, DAX and Power Query, JSON and workflow logic, Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AI Builder, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), or Azure AI services is an advantage.
- Capability expectations differ across G8-G9 and MM1-MM3 levels and include progression from supporting development activities and issue resolution to independently leading complex AI engineering initiatives, mentoring engineers, contributing to governance and safety standards, and driving enterprise AI transformation outcomes.
