Job Title: Team Member- Project Quality & Excellence

Reporting To: Team Lead- Project Quality & Excellence

Job Purpose:

The Team Member – Project Quality & Excellence (Electrical & Instrumentation) supports the establishment and execution of robust quality systems for the electrical and instrumentation scope of a greenfield solar cell manufacturing plant. The role ensures compliance with international quality standards, supports commissioning and validation activities, and facilitates a smooth transition from project execution to stable plant operations. The position emphasizes inspection, documentation, coordination, and continuous improvement across electrical, control, automation, and instrumentation systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Phase – Greenfield Setup

· Support development and execution of the Project Quality Management Plan for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) systems in alignment with ISO, GMP, and applicable electrical standards.

· Assist in defining quality benchmarks, inspection test plans (ITPs), and acceptance criteria for E&I-related; project deliverables.

· Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), control philosophies, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and instrumentation datasheets for quality and compliance.

· Ensure adherence to project specifications, applicable codes (IEC, IEEE, IS), and safety standards during execution.

· Participate in vendor quality assessments, drawing reviews, material inspections, FAT and SAT activities for electrical panels, PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, analyzers, and field instruments.

· Monitor quality of erection, cabling, earthing, lighting, power distribution, and control system installation at site.

· Support risk identification, non-conformance reporting (NCR), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

· Assist in commissioning and validation activities for power systems, automation, instrumentation loops, utilities, and safety interlocks.

· Coordinate with project engineering, contractors, OEMs, and commissioning teams to ensure quality integration.

Operation Phase – Post-Commissioning

· Support implementation and maintenance of QA/QC systems for E&I; operations.





· Assist in preparation and control of SOPs, inspection checklists, maintenance standards, and calibration protocols.

· Monitor critical electrical and instrumentation parameters impacting cleanroom, utilities, and production equipment.

· Participate in deviation management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation related to E&I; systems.

· Support internal audits, external audits, and certification assessments (ISO/GMP).

· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system reliability, uptime, energy efficiency, and safety.

· Provide quality-related support for change management (MOC) and system upgrades..

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· Compliance of E&I; systems with approved specifications and quality standards.

· Reduction in installation defects, punch points, and rework during project execution.

· Timely closure of NCRs, punch lists, and audit observations.

· Successful commissioning and handover of E&I; systems with minimal deviations.

· Improvement in operational reliability and reduction in E&I-related; quality incidents.

Qualifications:

· Education: Diploma/ B.E./ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.

· Certifications:

o ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor o Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt o Electrical Safety / OSHA / ISO 45001 Awareness)

Experience:

· 5–10 years of experience in Project Quality, Electrical & Instrumentation execution, commissioning, or QA/QC roles.

· Exposure to greenfield manufacturing projects in solar, semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceuticals, or cleanroom-based industries preferred.

· Hands-on involvement in E&I; installation, testing, commissioning, or quality control activities.

Skills & Competencies:

· Behavioural: Attention to detail, Analytical thinking, Team collaboration, Effective communication, Proactive problem-solving.

· Functional: Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Control,



Inspection & Test Planning (ITP), FAT/SAT Coordination, NCR, CAPA & RCA Support, Documentation & Record Control.

· Systems: Familiarity with AutoCAD (electrical drawings), Understanding of PLC/SCADA architectures, Basic exposure to quality management systems (QMS tools, MS Excel, document control systems).

Key Technical Skills:

· Quality assurance for electrical power distribution, earthing, lighting, and safety systems.

· Instrumentation installation, loop checking, calibration, and functional validation.

· Understanding of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and analyzers.

· Awareness of cleanroom electrical and instrumentation requirements.

· Documentation support for commissioning, validation, and audits.

· Exposure to SPC, basic FMEA, and reliability concepts.

Working Conditions:

· Location: This role is based at our manufacturing facility located near Rajkot.

· Work Environment: The position operates primarily within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

· Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.

· Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centres, or other company locations may be required.

· Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
