Job Title: Team Member- Cell Process
Reporting To: Team Lead- Cell Process
Job Purpose:
The Team Member – Cell Process will support day‑to‑day manufacturing operations within the TOPCon solar cell production line. The role includes running process tools, monitoring process conditions, ensuring cleanroom discipline, performing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation accuracy. The incumbent plays a key role in achieving stable production, high yield, and defect‑free manufacturing in a high‑tech, ISO‑compliant environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Phase – Greenfield Setup
Process Setup & Equipment Support:
· Assist in equipment installation activities and line readiness for TOPCon cell manufacturing processes (texturing, diffusion, PECVD, PVD, wet processes, metallization).
· Support senior engineers in running basic qualification tests, sample runs, and tool verification activities.
· Follow instructions for setting up process parameters, work instructions, and checklists.
Cleanroom & System Readiness:
· Maintain cleanroom protocols during installation and commissioning.
· Support tool cleaning, area upkeep, and basic 5S activities.
· Assist in utility readiness checks related to vacuum, gases, chemicals, DI water, and exhaust systems.
Operation Phase – Post-Commissioning Responsibilities
Process Operation & Monitoring:
· Operate process tools as per SOPs and standard work instructions.
· Monitor key process parameters, record readings, and report deviations.
· Perform wafer handling, loading/unloading, inspection, and in‑process quality checks.
· Ensure smooth daily production with minimal downtime.
Defect Detection & First‑Level Troubleshooting:
· Identify visual defects, contamination, and handling issues and report to supervisors.
· Support first‑level troubleshooting for basic alarms and tool disturbances.
· Maintain defect logs and help classify defects as per guidelines.
Cleanroom Discipline & Safety Compliance:
· Strictly follow ISO Class 1000–10,000 cleanroom rules, gowning standards, and contamination‑control practices.
· Follow chemical safety procedures when handling acids, solvents, gases, and process chemicals.
· Assist in periodic equipment and area cleaning.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Record daily production data, tool readings, downtime logs, and shift handover reports.
· Maintain accuracy in documentation related to yield, defects, process conditions, etc.
· Support audit requirements and QMS documentation updates.
Training & Skill Development:
· Attend training sessions on SPC basics, cleanroom behaviour, defect identification, and process safety.
· Improve operational skills to support continuous improvement and smooth production.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Project Phase:
· Timely completion of assigned setup tasks.
· Adherence to cleanroom and safety norms during installation and qualification.
· Accuracy in following instructions during process trials and equipment readiness.
Operational Phase:
· Target production throughput achievement (wafers/hour).
· Reduction in handling defects and improvement in operational discipline.
· Accurate log entries and timely escalation of process deviations.
· Cleanroom compliance and adherence to SOPs.
Qualifications:
· Education: Diploma/ B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical Engineering.
Certifications/ Trainings:
· Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, SPC, FMEA, ISO 9001 QMS.
Experience:
· Experience: Minimum 06–10 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing with strong exposure to process engineering.
· Preferred: Experience in greenfield projects and ramp-up of N-Type TOPCon or similar advanced technologies.
Skills & Competencies:
Technical Expertise:
· Solar Cell Processes: Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Cleaning, Texturing.
· Tools & Methods: SPC, DOE, FMEA, Control Charts, CAPA, RCA.
· Standards Awareness: ISO, SEMI, NFPA.
Core Competencies:
· Behavioral: Analytical thinking, communication, teamwork.
· Functional: Process optimization, defect reduction, yield enhancement.
· System: Familiarity with SAP, MES systems, and MS Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
· This role will be carried out within a manufacturing plant environment located near Rajkot.
· Location: This role is based at our manufacturing facility located near Rajkot.
· Work Environment: The position operates primarily within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
· Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.
· Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centers, or other company locations may be required.
· Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
