Job Title: Team Lead- Cell Quality

Reporting To: Lead- Cell Quality

Job Purpose:

The Team Lead – Cell Quality will be responsible for establishing, managing, and continuously improving the quality systems of an advanced N‑Type TOPCon Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant. The role ensures product reliability, world‑class quality performance, robust inspection systems, and strong compliance with global standards. The incumbent will drive quality assurance, defect analysis, RCA–CAPA management, and quality governance across the entire cell manufacturing value chain, with special focus on high‑yield production in a cleanroom environment..

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Phase – Greenfield Setup

Quality System Establishment:

· Develop and deploy a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and SEMI standards.

· Design and implement incoming, in‑process, and final inspection systems for all cell manufacturing stages.

· Establish SPC, FMEA, MSA, sampling plans, and quality control charts for critical parameters.

· Ensure quality compliance in cleanroom environments (ISO Class 1000–10,000).

· Support creation of quality-related SOPs, work instructions, and inspection checklists.

Process Qualification Support:

· Collaborate with process and engineering teams during FAT/SAT, process trials, and equipment qualification.

· Validate quality checkpoints during diffusion, texturing, PVD, PECVD, metallization, cleaning, and other critical process steps.

· Ensure quality requirements are integrated into machine recipes, control plans, and process documentation..

Operation Phase – Post-Commissioning Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

· Drive quality control across the production lines to ensure adherence to global standards and customer specifications.

· Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) for defects and quality failures.

· Conduct internal quality audits and support external certification audits (ISO/SEMI/NFPA).

· Ensure high‑level documentation, traceability, and readiness for customer/agency audits.

Defect Monitoring & Analysis:

· Monitor and analyze defects,



yield losses, and quality trends throughout the process flow.

· Utilize SPC and statistical tools to drive data‑based decision making.

· Implement defect reduction programs for surface defects, metallization defects, micro-cracks, contamination, and other key quality issues.

Continuous Improvement:

· Lead the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving tools (DMAIC, 8D).

· Improve efficiency, consistency, and robustness of quality inspection processes.

· Enhance sampling methodologies and eliminate non‑value‑added activities.

Team Leadership & Training:

· Lead a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and analysts.

· Provide training on SPC, FMEA, RCA, CAPA, QC tools, and cleanroom discipline.

· Build a culture of precision, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Documentation:

· Maintain and publish MIS reports covering quality performance metrics, defect Pareto, audits, NCRs, and CAPA status.

· Present key insights during management review meetings and customer audits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Project Phase:

· Timely establishment of QMS and inspection infrastructure.

· Successful process qualification and quality system validation.

· Compliance with cleanroom and global industry standards..

Operational Phase:

· Yield improvement and reduction in critical defects.

· Process capability achievements (Cp, Cpk).

· Audit scores and compliance performance.

· Prompt resolution of customer complaints or NCRs.

· Training hours delivered and competency improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

· Education: Diploma/ B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical Engineering.

Certifications/ Trainings:

· Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, SPC, FMEA, ISO 9001 QMS.

Experience:

· Experience:



Minimum 10–16 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing with solid exposure to quality control, defect analysis, and quality systems.

· Preferred: Experience with greenfield projects and ramp‑up of N‑Type TOPCon or similar high‑efficiency technologies is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

· Solar Cell Processes: Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Texturing, Cleaning.

· Quality Tools: SPC, FMEA, RCA, CAPA, Control Charts.

· Standards: ISO 9001, SEMI, NFPA compliance.

Core Competencies:

· Functional: Process Optimization, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement.

· System: SAP QM, MES, Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

· This role will be carried out within a manufacturing plant environment located near Rajkot.

· Location: This role is based at our manufacturing facility located near Rajkot.

· Work Environment: The position operates primarily within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

· Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.

· Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centers, or other company locations may be required.

· Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
