Position: Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical

Key Responsibilities / Required Experience:

- Manage supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with customer and organizational quality standards.
- Develop and maintain solid supplier relationships while driving supplier performance improvements.
- Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and capability evaluations.
- Lead supplier quality issue resolution through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Handle customer quality concerns and coordinate with suppliers for timely resolution.
- Strong knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), PFMEA/FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience in supplier development, supplier qualification, and vendor quality management.
- Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication processes, and various sheet metal grades.
- Good understanding of surface finishing processes, including powder coating, plating, painting, and related quality requirements.
- Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly processes.
- Experience in component handling, incoming quality inspection, and material quality management.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning),



inventory management, and production planning.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process setup, process validation, and process optimization.
- Experience in reducing turnaround time (TAT), improving supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge with hands-on experience in Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction projects.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills to identify quality trends and drive corrective actions.
- Ability to collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs), including Design, Manufacturing, Procurement, Production, and Quality teams.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T;, BOMs, specifications, and mechanical tolerances.
- Experience with ERP systems, digital manufacturing tools, and quality reporting dashboards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Industry Experience:

- Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, consumer products, electronics manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, or OEM/EMS manufacturing environments.
- Candidates with experience in supplier quality, vendor development, or manufacturing quality will be preferred.
