Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Supplier Quality Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The position focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of supplied components through NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), GD&T; interpretation, CMM programming, and detailed inspection activities for machining and foundry operations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating and auditing suppliers, reviewing technical drawings and specifications, implementing and monitoring supplier quality plans, and performing root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformities. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams on SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance), supporting process improvements,
and maintaining documentation and records aligned with quality management systems and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Robust skills in Supplier Evaluation and Supplier Audit to assess, qualify, and monitor supplier capabilities and performance.
- Proficiency in Supplier Quality Management and Supplier Quality to drive supplier development, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Hands-on experience in Quality Management and Quality Control, including inspection planning, data analysis, and compliance with industry standards.
- Applied knowledge of NDT methods, GD&T;, CMM programming, machining inspection, and foundry inspection for precision metal components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications and translate them into clear inspection and quality requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO or similar quality management systems, PPAP, APQP, and related supplier quality tools is beneficial.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with suppliers and internal engineering, production, and sourcing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant certifications in NDT or quality are an advantage.
