Supervisor – Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the overall day-to-day operations of the hospital store.
- Ensure timely availability of medicines, housekeeping items, linen, and other hospital materials.
- Plan and monitor stock levels, minimum/maximum inventory, and reorder requirements.
- Check all incoming materials for quantity, quality, batch number, expiry date, and purchase documents.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, segregation, and systematic arrangement of stock.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock registers, and ERP/software entries.
- Monitor all material issues, returns, transfers, and consumption with proper authorization and documentation.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
- Identify and report expired, damaged, slow-moving, excess, or shortage stock.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports to management.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Pharmacy, Nursing, Administration, Housekeeping, Kitchen, and other department.
- Maintain proper store cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security.
- Control access to the store and ensure materials are issued only to authorized personnel.
- Supervise store staff, allocate duties, monitor attendance, and ensure discipline.
- Train staff in inventory handling, documentation, safety procedures, and hospital SOPs.
- Monitor staff performance and take corrective action or report issues to management when required.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal procedures for expired or damaged materials as per hospital policy and applicable requirements.
- Assist during internal/external audits, inspections, and stock verification.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and take corrective/preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Escalate critical shortages, major discrepancies, emergency requirements, and operational issues to management promptly.
- Maintain qualified coordination with all departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted hospital operations.
Qualification/Skills
- Minimum 12th pass; graduation in any stream is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, MS Excel, MS Office, and inventory/ERP software.
- Good supervisory, team-management, and staff coordination skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to identify and control stock discrepancies, wastage, damage, and shortages.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Purchase, Accounts, Pharmacy, Nursing, Administration, Housekeeping, Kitchen, and other departments.
- Strong inventory and Supervising management skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate stock registers and ERP/software records.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in store, inventory, warehouse, or hospital store operations is preferred.
- Experience in hospital/healthcare, wellness, pharmacy, or medical stores will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or store-in-charge role is preferred.
- Experience in ERP/inventory management systems and Excel-based reporting is an added advantage.
- Experience supervising store staff and coordinating with multiple hospital departments is preferred.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
