Role Description The Study Abroad Counsellor is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The counsellor will guide students through the entire study-abroad process, including understanding academic profiles, recommending suitable countries, universities, and courses, and explaining admission requirements and timelines. Daily responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, supporting students with applications and documentation, coordinating with universities and partners, and providing accurate information on visas, scholarships, and financial planning.





The role also involves assisting with language-test guidance, organizing pre-departure briefings, maintaining detailed student records, and following up with inquiries to ensure a smooth experience. The counsellor will work closely with the wider team to deliver student-focused, ethical, and transparent counselling services.

Qualifications

- Strong counselling and advisory skills, including the ability to assess student profiles and provide clear, tailored guidance.
- Knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and visa requirements for key destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and other European countries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions in a professional and inclusive manner.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, documentation, and deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and CRM or student management systems for maintaining accurate records and follow-ups.
- Experience in overseas education consulting, student services, or related fields is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, counselling, international relations, or a related discipline preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders, and commitment to ethical, student-centered counselling.
