Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Store Manager to lead the Stores function at our Jaipur forging plant. This is a critical operational role responsible for end-to-end inventory management across steel raw materials, finished forgings, consumables, tooling, and other plant materials. The ideal candidate is process-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of building and enforcing systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Raw Material (Steel) Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming steel billets, bars, and coils as per purchase orders and material specifications
- Maintain heat number traceability and material test certificates (MTCs) for all incoming steel
- Finished Forging Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records of forged components - part number-wise, heat batch-wise
- Ensure proper identification, tagging, and segregation of finished goods, including customer-specific or export-tagged lots
- Coordinate with dispatch and logistics for timely outward movement of finished stock
- Conduct daily physical counts and reconcile with ERP records
- Consumables & Indirect Materials
- Manage inventory of all production consumables including lubricants, scale inhibitors, die release compounds, packing materials, and maintenance items
- Enforce min-max reorder controls and prevent stock-outs for critical consumables
- Ensure FIFO / FEFO practices are followed consistently
- Store Operations & Housekeeping
- Maintain a well-organised, clearly labelled, and 5S-compliant store at all times
- Enforce proper racking, binning, and zoning of all inventory categories
- Conduct and lead periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits
- Ensure compliance with FIFO discipline across all stock categories
- ERP & Documentation
- Own all store-side transactions in the ERP system (ERPNext) - GRNs, stock transfers,

stock reconciliation, and material returns





- Ensure zero backlog in ERP entries; all movements to be recorded on the same day
- Generate and review daily/weekly inventory reports for plant leadership
- Maintain all inward and outward documentation including challan management, gate passes, and rejection documentation
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure the store area is compliant with fire safety, hazardous material storage norms, and applicable statutory requirements
- Maintain proper segregation of non-conforming, on-hold, and rejected materials
- Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits) with timely data and documentation

Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

- Minimum 10 years of experience in stores/materials management in a forging, casting, or heavy engineering manufacturing workplace
- Proven experience managing multiple inventory categories simultaneously - raw materials,

finished goods, consumables, and tooling

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (ERPNext, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for day-to-

day store transactions

- Prior experience in an export-oriented or OEM-supplying manufacturing unit is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies

- Strong command over inventory control techniques - FIFO, min-max, cycle counting, ABC analysis
- High attention to detail with zero tolerance for record discrepancies
- Ability to lead a team of store staff and enforce process discipline
- Proficiency in MS Excel for inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation
- Good communication skills in Hindi; working knowledge of English for documentation purposes
- Physically active and comfortable with floor-level store operations in a heavy manufacturing environment
