: Senior Store Incharge (Civil High-Rise Buildings)

Job Title: Senior Store Incharge Civil

Department: Procurement & Materials Management

Project Type: High-Rise Buildings

Reports To: Project Manager / Procurement Head

Location: Padana ,Jamnagar

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Summary The Senior Store Incharge is responsible for the end-to-end management of the site store for high-rise construction projects. This includes the receipt, storage, preservation, issuance, and accounting of all civil construction materials (e.g., TMT steel, aggregates, RMC additives, formwork, plumbing, and finishing items).

The role requires strict adherence to inventory control procedures, safety standards, and coordination with project engineers to ensure zero downtime due to material shortages.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Inventory & Material Management

- Receipt & Inspection: Oversee the physical receipt of materials (Steel, Aggregates, Tiles, Paint, etc.). Verify quantities against Purchase Orders (PO) and Delivery Challans. Coordinate with QA/QC for material testing and rejections.
- Storage & Preservation: Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage or deterioration (e.g., cement bags on wooden pallets, steel stored off-ground, chemicals stored in ventilated areas).
- Issuance & Control: Issue materials to contractors/sub-contractors only against approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS) authorized by Project Engineers.
- Stock Verification: Conduct periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) physical stock verification and reconcile with ERP/SAP records. Investigate and report discrepancies immediately.

Documentation & Compliance

- GRN & Record Keeping: Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and maintain accurate ledgers for all inward and outward movements.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements regarding storage (e.g., handling of hazardous chemicals, pollution control norms for dust).
- Audit Support: Prepare for and assist in internal and external audits (ISO, statutory, client audits). Maintain zero non-conformance reports (NCRs) regarding store operations.

C. Coordination & Communication

- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries, shortage claims, and damaged material replacements.
- Site Coordination: Work closely with Site Engineers, Planning Engineers, and Foremen to anticipate material requirements based on the construction schedule.
- Logistics: Manage the unloading of vehicles, labours for material handling, and coordination with the logistics team for inter-site transfers.

D. Wastage & Cost Control

- Wastage Monitoring: Monitor and control wastage of materials and Implement measures to minimise pilferage and damage.
- Scrap Management: Manage the segregation and disposal of scrap materials as per company policy.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Inventory Accuracy:



Maintain proper accuracy between physical stock and ERP records.
- Material Availability: Zero downtime at the site due to store-related stockouts.
- Documentation Turnaround: GRNs and MRS entries completed within 24 hours of transaction.
- Wastage Control: Maintain wastage within the project budget limits
- Audit Compliance: Zero major observations in internal/external audits.

4. Qualifications & Experience

Education:

- Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), or Civil Engineering (Diploma/B.E./B.Tech).
- Preferred: Certification in Inventory Management or SAP MM.

Experience:

- Total Experience: 4–7 years of experience in store management within the Construction Industry.
- Specific Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience specifically handling High-Rise Building Projects (residential or commercial towers).
- ERP Experience: Hands-on experience with ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is mandatory. Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is required.

5. Technical Competencies

- Material Knowledge: Deep understanding of civil construction materials, grades (e.g., Fe500D, OPC/PPC), and their storage requirements.
- Software: Proficiency in ERP , MS Office.
- Standards: Knowledge of IS codes relevant to material storage and testing.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.

6. Working Conditions

- Setting: Based primarily at the construction site office/store.

- Reporting to: Project Manager
