About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Developer to design, build, and maintain robust database solutions that support our applications and business intelligence needs. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and working closely with development and analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain relational database schemas, tables, views, and indexes
2. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
3. Analyze and tune query performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks
4. Develop and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
5. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across database systems
6. Collaborate with application developers to design efficient data models
7. Monitor database performance, capacity, and health; perform regular maintenance
8. Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
9. Write and maintain technical documentation (schemas, data dictionaries, procedures)
10. Support database migrations, upgrades, and version control practices
11. Troubleshoot production database issues and provide timely resolutions
12. Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into database solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

1.



4–6 years of hands-on experience as a SQL/Database Developer
2. Strong expertise in SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle (adjust based on your stack)
3. Proficiency in writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
4. Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies
5. Experience with query optimization and performance tuning
6. Familiarity with ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or similar)
7. Experience with database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning
8. Knowledge of version control tools (Git) for database change management
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
11. Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred / Positive to Have

1. Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
2. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
3. Exposure to BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS)
4. Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell) for automation
5. Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools
6. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
7. Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, etc.)
