We are looking for an energetic, creative, and data-aware Social Media Marketing Manager to lead our organic and community brand footprint across all social platforms. In this role, you will lead our daily social narrative, manage student creator ambassadorship programs, cover on-campus events in real time, and turn everyday college life into high-engagement, shareable digital content that builds brand love and fuels admissions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy & Channel Execution
- Own the editorial calendar and content distribution across all major handles: Instagram, YouTube (Long-form & Shorts), LinkedIn, Facebook, and emerging student-centric formats.
- Create high-velocity, mobile-first short-form video content (Reels, Shorts) spotlighting faculty insights, student projects, campus fests, hostel life, labs, and sports achievements.
- Develop an authoritative LinkedIn content engine focusing on institutional milestones, research breakthroughs, industry partnerships, guest lectures, and placement records.
- Maintain a balanced content mix addressing both aspirational student life and parent/stakeholder trust factors (accreditations, alumni success stories, campus security).
- Collaborate closely with the Admissions & Performance Marketing teams during peak intake cycles to amplify admission deadlines, entrance exam FAQs, open house dates, and campus tour invites.
- Partner with the PR and design teams to ensure brand voice, typography, and visual identity remain consistent across digital touchpoints.
2. Student Creator Network & UGC Management
- Recruit, train, and manage an active Student Social Media Ambassador / Creator Squad to generate relatable, authentic User-Generated Content (UGC) across departments.
- Establish creative brand guidelines and safety protocols for student contributors, ensuring regular, compliant video submissions.
- Host interactive student Q&As;, day-in-the-life takeovers, and behind-the-scenes stories during key campus events.
3. Community Management & Brand Reputation
- Actively monitor comments, direct messages, brand tags, and student discussion threads across all social platforms; respond promptly and guide inquiries to the appropriate counseling or administrative helpdesks.
- Act as an early-warning signal for potential PR/reputational risks on social channels, escalating sensitive campus issues in accordance with university communications policies.
4. Analytics, Reporting & Trend Jacking
- Track core engagement metrics: organic reach, video completion rates, follower growth velocity,
click-through rates (CTR) on bio links, and audience sentiment.
- Deliver monthly performance decks with actionable recommendations on which content pillars drive engagement and community sentiment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Audience Growth & Engagement: MoM organic follower growth and engagement rate across Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Extreme Ownership Mindset: You treat the university's social channels like your own publication.
- Video Performance: 30-day view counts, average watch duration, and share rates on Reels and Shorts.
- Campus Participation: Size and output velocity of the Student Creator Ambassador Program.
- Inquiry Inflow: Referral traffic to admissions landing pages and bio-link click volume during campaign windows.
- Response Velocity: Median first-response time to inbound student and parent queries on social platforms.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Experience: 3–6 years of hands-on experience managing active social media handles, preferably within higher education, media/publishing, or EdTech.
- Copywriting & Voice Versatility: Ability to switch tone effortlessly between energetic, witty student-first captions and professional, credential-driven institutional prose for LinkedIn.
- Comfort with Public Engagement: Natural ease interacting with students, faculty, alumni, and leadership on camera to conduct casual interviews and vox-pops.
- Platform Fluency: Deep understanding of Instagram algorithms, YouTube Shorts mechanics, LinkedIn thought leadership frameworks, and analytics suites (Sprout Social, Buffer, Meta Business Suite).
