- JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Site Supervisor to manage the installation and execution of furniture projects at customer/project sites.

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that furniture supplied from the manufacturing unit is properly received, checked, installed and handed over to the customer as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project timelines.

The candidate must have practical knowledge of furniture installation, site measurements, drawings, hardware, tools, manpower management and coordination with the factory and project team.

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Site Supervision & Installation

- Supervise day-to-day furniture installation activities at project sites.
- Ensure furniture is installed as per approved 2D drawings, specifications and site requirements.
- Supervise installation of:
- Wardrobes
- Modular kitchens
- Cabinets
- Tables
- Storage units
- Office furniture
- Hotel furniture
- Residential furniture
- Customized furniture
- Wall panels and other furniture-related works
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, fixing and finishing of furniture.
- Check that all hardware and fittings are correctly installed.
- Ensure proper use of installation tools and equipment.

3. SITE MEASUREMENT & VERIFICATION The candidate should have practical experience in taking site measurements.

Responsibilities include

- Take accurate site measurements before installation.
- Verify dimensions against approved drawings.
- Identify site conditions that may affect furniture installation.
- Check walls, floors, ceilings, electrical points, plumbing points and other site conditions where relevant.
- Report discrepancies between site conditions and drawings before installation.
- Coordinate with the design/technical team for required modifications.

No major installation should be started without confirming critical site dimensions and conditions.

- DRAWING & TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING The Site Supervisor should be able to read and understand 2D furniture drawings.

Responsibilities include

- Read furniture drawings and understand dimensions.
- Understand elevations, sections and plan views.
- Identify individual furniture components from drawings.
- Understand hardware locations and installation details.
- Compare manufactured furniture with approved drawings.
- Identify drawing-related issues before installation.
- Coordinate with the design team whenever clarification is required.

5. MATERIAL & COMPONENT VERIFICATION

Before installation, the Site Supervisor will check:

- Furniture components
- Panels
- Shutters
- Drawers
- Hardware
- Hinges
- Channels
- Handles
- Screws and fittings
- Glass
- Laminates/veneers
- Accessories
- Other project-specific materials

The supervisor must ensure that the correct quantity and components have reached the site.

Any shortage,



damage or mismatch must be immediately reported.

- QUALITY CONTROL

Ensure that completed furniture meets company quality standards.

Check

- Dimensions
- Alignment
- Leveling
- Gaps
- Shutter operation
- Drawer operation
- Hardware fitting
- Edge finishing
- Surface finishing
- Joint quality
- Fixing strength
- Overall appearance

Identify defects and coordinate with the factory/production team for rectification.
- MANPOWER MANAGEMENT

- Supervise carpenters, installers, helpers and other site workers.
- Allocate daily work to the installation team.
- Monitor worker productivity.
- Ensure adequate manpower for planned activities.
- Maintain attendance of site workers.
- Ensure discipline and proper conduct at the project site.
- Train/guide workers regarding proper installation methods.
- Ensure workers use appropriate tools and safety equipment.

8. FACTORY & SITE COORDINATION The Site Supervisor will act as an important link between the manufacturing unit and project site.

Coordinate with

Factory → Dispatch → Transportation → Site → Installation → Quality Check → Handover

Responsibilities include

- Coordinate with production regarding pending components.
- Inform factory about damaged or incorrect components.
- Coordinate replacement/rectification requirements.
- Provide daily updates on installation progress.
- Communicate site issues to the project manager/design team.
- Ensure timely availability of required materials and hardware.

9. SITE PROGRESS MANAGEMENT

Prepare and maintain a daily project progress report covering:

- Work completed
- Work pending
- Manpower deployed
- Materials received
- Materials pending
- Installation status
- Issues/obstructions
- Customer instructions
- Additional requirements
- Expected completion date

Escalate delays immediately to management/project manager.
- CUSTOMER & CONTRACTOR COORDINATION

- Coordinate professionally with customers, architects, interior designers and contractors at site.
- Understand customer/site requirements.
- Record customer instructions and changes.
- Do not commit additional work or commercial changes without management approval.
- Coordinate access, working hours and installation schedules.
- Maintain professional behaviour at all project sites.

11. SNAGGING & HANDOVER

Before final handover

- Inspect all installed furniture.
- Prepare a snag/defect list.
- Coordinate rectification of identified defects.
- Ensure all shutters,



drawers and hardware operate properly.
- Ensure site is cleaned after installation.
- Check that all agreed furniture items have been installed.
- Obtain customer/site-team confirmation after completion.

12. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT The candidate should have practical knowledge of tools commonly used for furniture installation, including:
- Drilling machines
- Screwdrivers
- Measuring tapes
- Laser levels
- Spirit levels
- Cutting/installation tools
- Hand tools
- Power tools

The supervisor must ensure proper handling, storage and safe use of tools.
- SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure workers follow site safety requirements.
- Ensure proper use of PPE wherever required.
- Ensure secure operation of power tools.
- Maintain safe working conditions during installation.
- Immediately report accidents, hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Follow customer/project-specific safety rules.

14. REQUIRED SKILLSMust Have
- 3–7 years' experience in furniture installation/site supervision.
- Practical knowledge of furniture manufacturing and installation.
- Ability to read 2D furniture drawings.
- Knowledge of furniture hardware and fittings.
- Experience in site measurement.
- Experience in supervising carpenters/installers.
- Knowledge of modular and customized furniture installation.
- Ability to identify installation and manufacturing defects.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to prepare daily site reports.

15. QUALIFICATION

ITI / Diploma / Graduate / Interior or Furniture-related qualification preferred.

Candidates with strong practical furniture installation experience may also be considered.

The Site Supervisor will be evaluated on:

- Timely completion of installation
- Installation quality
- Accuracy of site measurements
- Reduction in installation-related defects
- Material/component loss or damage
- Manpower productivity
- Site discipline
- Customer/site-team satisfaction
- Accuracy of daily progress reporting
- Effective coordination with factory
- Timely closure of snags
- Compliance with safety requirements

17. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate should be a practical furniture installation professional, not merely a general construction site supervisor.

The candidate should be capable of independently managing:

Site Measurement → Drawing Understanding → Material Verification → Manpower Planning → Furniture Installation → Quality Checking → Snag Rectification → Customer Handover
