Role: Shift Incharge - Maintenance - Vehicle

Location: Vehicle Plant, Hosur, Tamil Nadu

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

About the Team and the Role The Manufacturing Operations team at Ather is responsible for managing all shift maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability of machinery, and driving preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives at the Vehicle plant.

This role is for a Shift Incharge - Maintenance who will oversee the maintenance of special purpose machines, develop maintenance programs, and ensure the seamless introduction of recent equipment while managing spare parts inventory and team safety.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to drive reliability and minimize reactive maintenance.

- Manage shift maintenance operations and effectively delegate tasks to technicians based on their skill sets.

- Conduct Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) for all machine subsystems and equipment.

- Perform Root Cause Analysis to resolve breakdown issues and troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and electronic interlocks.

- Oversee the maintenance budget, track expenses, and manage the forecasting and inventory of spare parts.

- Monitor maintenance logs, report on daily team activities, and ensure periodic calibration of all sub-systems.

- Manage the introduction and process integration of new machinery, plant, and equipment with relevant stakeholders.

- Motivate the team to implement Kaizens, adhere to safety standards, and maintain 5S workplace organization.

Experience and Qualifications
- B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical engineering or a related field.

- 4-8 years of experience in SPM Machine & Equipment Maintenance within the automotive industry.

Must Have Competencies
- Maintenance of Special Purpose Machines (SPM)



and automotive equipment.

- Troubleshooting and rectifying Electrical, PLC, HMI, Nut runners, DC tools and Electronic interlocks, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, conveyors.

- Implementation of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs and Reliability initiatives.

- Proficiency in Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Refrigerant systems maintenance.

Good to Have Competencies
- Execution of Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

- Management of Servo drives, VFDs, and power electronics including MOSFETs and amplifiers, DC tool nutrunners, Dyno, conveyor systems, pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, LVDT.

- Oversight of spare parts inventory forecasting and maintenance budget management.

- Maintenance and calibration of sensors, heating elements, compressors, and DG sets.
