Purpose: To supervise pilot plant operations and execute trial and scale-up batches safely and efficiently, as per defined SOPs and process instructions.

Purpose of the Role

- Supervise pilot plant operations and shift personnel.
- Execute experimental, trial, and scale-up batches as per approved process instructions and SOPs.
- Monitor critical process parameters and provide accurate process data for development and scale-up.
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards, safety procedures, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Process Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise pilot plant operations during the shift.
- Execute trial, experimental, and scale-up batches safely and efficiently.
- Monitor critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, pH, etc.
- Maintain accurate batch records, logbooks, shift reports, and process documentation.
- Ensure equipment readiness, housekeeping, and cleanliness before trials.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure proper PPE and safe work practices.
- Identify process deviations and take corrective action or escalate as required.




- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Train and guide operators/technicians on process operations, SOPs, and safety practices.
- Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, safety audits, and process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate between R&D;/Process Engineering and plant operations for smooth execution of trials.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Chemical Engineering

Nature of Experience:

5 to 10 years experience in Agro Chemicals / Specialty Chemicals / Batch Process Industry, preferably in Pilot Plant, Scale-up, or Process Development operations.
