About the Role

We are seeking a senior SAP PI/PO Consultant with strong expertise in XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, and Vertex O Series integrations. The role focuses on XML payload mapping, Vertex configuration, transaction validation, troubleshooting, and integration analysis. The candidate will work closely with Vertex engineering, project management, and functional tax teams to deliver accurate tax integration solutions.

The role involves designing, mapping, validating, and troubleshooting SOAP-based XML payloads used for Vertex processing. The consultant will work with business-provided tax drivers and translate them into appropriate XML structures while ensuring accurate data mapping across ERP and tax-engine hierarchies.

The candidate will configure and maintain Vertex content, perform end-to-end transaction testing using API tools, and analyze SOAP responses, logs, and tax calculations. The role also requires close collaboration with technical and functional stakeholders to resolve integration issues and communicate implementation progress.

Key Responsibilities

- Map business tax drivers into appropriate XML/SOAP request payloads.
- Configure and maintain Taxability Product Drivers (TPD) and Taxability Product Categories (TPC) in Vertex Central.
- Perform end-to-end transaction testing using SoapUI, Postman, and integration logs.
- Analyze SOAP responses to validate tax rates, jurisdictions, and applicable tax rules.




- Map ERP master data and business codes into the appropriate tax-engine hierarchy.
- Troubleshoot XML and integration issues, including calculation discrepancies and system errors.
- Utilize Vertex Tax Assist rules where required to address complex tax scenarios.
- Collaborate with project management and functional tax teams to communicate technical issues, timelines, and implementation status.

Required Skills

- Robust expertise in XML, SOAP, WSDL, and XSD.
- Hands-on experience with Vertex O Series.
- Experience with Vertex Taxability Mapping, Taxpayers, Tax Assist, TPD, and TPC.
- Experience using SoapUI, Postman, or integration logs for transaction analysis.
- Strong data-mapping and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate technical XML/SOAP structures into business logic.
- Strong troubleshooting and integration analysis capabilities.
