Role Description The Senior Software Engineer role at FreechargeBiz is a full-time, hybrid position based in Gurugram, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power core financial and payment functionalities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and testable code, performing code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing system performance and reliability. The engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring secure and compliant handling of financial data. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers,



contributing to architecture decisions, and continuously improving development practices and tooling.

Qualifications

- Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, building scalable, secure, and high-availability services.
- Proficiency in Programming with at least one modern language (such as Java, C#, Go, Python, or Node.js) and familiarity with related frameworks.
- Solid understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in complex software systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, RESTful or gRPC APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
- Ability to write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and to work with version control systems such as Git.
- Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in fintech, payments, or high-transaction systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
