About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Production & Systems who can take ownership of our software systems from development to production.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting systems that are used at scale.

This role is suitable for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving real production problems, making technical decisions and working closely with a growing engineering team.

You may come from a Backend, Frontend, Full-Stack, AI/ML or Infrastructure background. We are more interested in your production experience, problem-solving ability and ownership than in a specific technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, deploy and maintain production systems.
- Monitor system performance, reliability and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and technical incidents.
- Identify root causes of problems and implement long-term solutions.
- Make system-design and architecture decisions based on performance, cost, scalability and reliability.
- Improve existing systems, code quality and development processes.
- Establish positive practices for coding, testing, code reviews and deployments.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Work with product and programme teams to understand requirements and solve technical problems.
- Coordinate with external partners, vendors and technical teams when required.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to the future architecture of VOPA's technology platforms.

Required Skills & Experience





- 6+ years of experience in software development and production systems.
- Strong experience in developing, deploying and maintaining live software applications.
- Good understanding of system design, architecture and scalability.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Ability to understand the root cause of technical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Experience working with existing or legacy systems.
- Strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills Experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage:

- Python / FastAPI
- React Native
- MongoDB
- Redis
- Queue-based or asynchronous systems
- Cloud infrastructure and deployment
- Production ML/AI systems
- Offline-first or sync-based mobile applications
- Applications designed for low-end devices or unreliable networks
- Indian-language technology or datasets
- Marathi or Hindi language skills
