About the OpportunityWe are hiring for a US-headquartered, publicly listed global technology company that is building and expanding its Product & Technology team in Bangalore.
The company operates a large-scale global marketplace platform connecting businesses across different sides of its ecosystem.
We are looking for a Senior / Staff Software Engineer who can join as an early member of the India engineering team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building products, writing code, solving complex engineering problems, and taking ownership from design to implementation.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build and improve scalable software products and services.
- Stay hands-on with coding and implementation.
- Work across backend and frontend depending on the problem.
- Build and improve APIs, services and user-facing features.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Take ownership of technical decisions within your area.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
- Solve performance, scalability and reliability challenges.
- Use AI development tools for coding, debugging, code review and design exploration.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers and global Engineering teams.
- Help establish strong engineering practices as the India team grows.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in product-based companies.
- Strong hands-on coding experience, including recent development work.
- Experience working across both backend and frontend.
- Good understanding of APIs, system design and scalable applications.
- Experience owning products or platforms end-to-end.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Hands-on experience using modern AI coding/development tools.
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
- Comfortable mentoring engineers while remaining an individual contributor.
TechnologyThe team is open to engineers from different technology backgrounds. Backend: Python, Ruby on Rails
Frontend: React, TypeScript
Cloud: AWS
Experience with the exact technology stack is helpful but not mandatory. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn and work across technologies are more important.

- Marketplace or multi-sided platform experience.
- Startup, founding engineer or 0-to-1 product-building experience.
- Experience working with US or global engineering teams.
- Experience joining an early engineering team and helping it scale.
- Robust architecture and system design exposure.
- Experience using AI tools to meaningfully improve engineering productivity.
