Role Description The Senior Software Architect with 8+ years of experience at Redacto is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This position is responsible for defining and evolving the overall software architecture of Redacto’s data privacy platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

What you'll do

- Own the entire platform architecture across the Consent, Discover, Vendor, Privacy Governance, and Breach Management modules — from high-level system design to critical component decisions.
- Drive R&D;: research, prototype, and productionize emerging capabilities — AI/LLM-driven classification, privacy-enhancing technologies, and next-gen data discovery.
- Design for hybrid and split-plane deployments — SaaS control plane with Kubernetes-based data planes running inside customer data centers and clouds.
- Define architecture standards, design-review processes, and ADRs; ensure consistency, security, and quality across engineering teams.
- Partner with product and founders on feasibility, technical trade-offs, and the long-term platform roadmap.
- Ensure scalability, multi-tenancy, performance, and reliability as the platform grows across large regulated enterprises.
- Translate DPDPA and regulatory requirements into concrete architectural patterns — data residency, isolation, auditability, and privacy by design.
- Mentor tech leads and senior engineers; raise the technical bar without owning people management.

Skills

- Architecture: Distributed systems, microservices, event-driven design, API-first design; multi-tenancy, data partitioning, and isolation models; HLDs, LLDs, C4 views, ADRs.
- Systems & Data: Deep backend expertise (Python,



Go, Java, or similar); SQL/NoSQL at scale; streaming and messaging (Kafka or equivalent); data pipelines, CDC, and large-scale scanning/classification workloads.
- AI & R&D;: Practical experience applying ML/LLMs to product problems — classification, entity recognition, retrieval; ability to evaluate build-vs-buy and model trade-offs.
- Cloud & Deployment: Kubernetes, containers, Helm, IaC (Terraform); designing systems that run as SaaS, on-prem, and hybrid; cloud-agnostic patterns across AWS/GCP/Azure.
- Security & Privacy: Encryption at rest/in transit, KMS, secrets management, zero-trust; privacy-by-design, data minimization, auditability; familiarity with DPDPA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Software Architecture and Software Design, with experience shaping complex, distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, including hands-on work with contemporary languages and frameworks like GoLang.
- Deep understanding of Design Patterns and their application in building maintainable, scalable software solutions.
- Experience designing secure, high-availability platforms, ideally in data privacy, security, or compliance-focused products.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineering teams, and make well-reasoned architectural decisions.
- Solid knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and modern DevOps practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
