Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shopify App Developer to lead the technical design,

development, and scaling of our multi-tenant SaaS application on the official Shopify

App Store. In this role, you will take complete ownership of building a unified, public app that merchants can install and configure autonomously, replacing manual configurations with self-serve, dynamic Theme App Extensions.

Core Responsibilities

- App Store Product Development: Build, maintain, and scale a multi-tenant public Shopify application compliant with Shopify App Store guidelines and "Built for Shopify" standards.
- Storefront Customization Engine: Engineer modular Theme App Extensions (App Embeds and App Blocks) that automatically adapt to third-party themes without causing style conflicts or performance degradation.
- Merchant Experience: Design intuitive, reactive embedded app dashboards using Shopify Polaris and App Bridge for merchant-facing configuration and analytics.
- Backend Architecture: Maintain scalable backend services, API integrations, and database schemas capable of handling concurrent requests across thousands of active store installations.
- Data Pipelines & Resiliency: Configure asynchronous background job processing and reliable webhook listeners to process Shopify events (shop/update, app/uninstalled, orders) with zero downtime.

Required Technical Skills

- Shopify CLI & Templates: Proficiency in developing with modern Shopify CLI tooling and Remix-based or Node.js app templates.




- Theme App Extensions: Deep knowledge of building and bundling Theme App extensions (App Embeds, App Blocks) configured through shopify.extension.toml.
- Shopify APIs: Advanced mastery of Shopify’s GraphQL Admin API (cost calculation, query throttling, cursor pagination), Storefront API, and App Proxies.• Shopify UI Tooling: Extensive hands-on experience building embedded interfaces using Shopify Polaris and App Bridge.
- Server-Side Development: Strong proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript (or modern Remix runtimes).
- Database & Multi-Tenancy: Robust knowledge of PostgreSQL or MongoDB, schema migrations, and ORMs (Prisma preferred) structured for multi-tenant data isolation.
- Asynchronous Jobs: Experience implementing Redis-backed message queues (e.g., BullMQ) for webhook processing and rate-limit handling.

Required Experience

- 3+ years of dedicated professional software development experience within the Shopify ecosystem.
- Public App Track Record: Must have contributed to or launched at least one public app currently or previously listed on the official Shopify App Store.
- Multi-Tenant SaaS: Experience architecting an application where a single backend codebase securely serves multiple merchant accounts with isolated data.
