Role Summary The Senior Resident will provide comprehensive, timely, and evidence-based emergency care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. The role involves clinical assessment and management, supervision of junior residents, coordination with consultants and other departments, participation in teaching, and contribution to quality and patient-safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, stabilize, and manage patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, and other emergency conditions.
- Perform and supervise resuscitation, including BLS/ACLS, airway management, and management of critically ill patients.
- Conduct appropriate emergency procedures such as vascular access, suturing, splinting, procedural sedation, and other procedures within the resident's competency.
- Identify time-critical conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, stroke, sepsis, major trauma, and respiratory failure and initiate appropriate management promptly.
- Coordinate referrals, admissions, transfers, and consultations with relevant specialties.
- Supervise and guide junior residents, interns, and other clinical staff during emergency department shifts.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including clinical notes, procedures, discharge summaries, and medico-legal documentation.
- Participate in handovers and maintain continuity of patient care.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection-control practices, medication-safety standards, and emergency department policies.
- Participate in departmental audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, clinical research, and quality-improvement activities.
- Assist with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, simulation training, case discussions, and bedside education.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, relatives, consultants, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Respond appropriately to mass-casualty incidents and hospital emergency/disaster protocols when required.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine or equivalent postgraduate qualification, as applicable to institutional requirements.
- Valid medical registration with the relevant medical council.
- Current certification in BLS/ACLS preferred/required as per hospital policy.
- Relevant emergency medicine experience and procedural competence.

Working Requirements

Pay: Up to ₹334,847.81 per month
