Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (Mandatory)

Senior Product Designer:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 8-10 years of experience in automotive product design and development.

- Solid experience in wheel design, product development and validation, preferably within the automotive wheel/component manufacturing industry.
- Responsible for design and development of wheels from concept to production, including design reviews, engineering changes and product validation.
- Experience in coordinating with customers and global engineering teams for product design, development and technical requirements.
- Strong exposure to New Product Development (NPD), APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, CSR and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience in design validation, testing, homologation and customer audits.
- Ability to provide technical support during customer visits, product launches and engineering development activities.
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi are preferred.

Experience, Skills & Technical Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of automotive product design and development processes, materials and product costing.

- Hands-on knowledge of CATIA V5, AutoCAD, 2D/3D CAD modelling, GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Experience in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP and Program Management.
- Strong understanding of customer-specific requirements, product testing and homologation.
- Experience in VAVE/VA-VE, cost reduction, benchmarking, innovation and continuous improvement.




- Knowledge of FEA/analysis tools such as ANSYS or HyperWorks will be an added advantage.
- Wheel design and development experience will be highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Customer-oriented approach with strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead design and development activities for new wheel programs, from concept through validation and production launch.

- Coordinate with customers to understand product requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Lead internal and customer design reviews, engineering changes, tool development and plant launch activities.
- Coordinate APQP/PPAP, design validation, testing, homologation and customer audits.
- Prepare and coordinate CSR documentation, sample submissions and customer-specific documentation.
- Track NPD project milestones and ensure on-time sample manufacturing and submission.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and cross-functional departments on product design and engineering development.
- Drive VAVE, cost-saving, benchmarking, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support for customer visits, product launches and field/warranty issues.
- Analyse field complaints and support onsite resolution and corrective actions.
- Participate in TPM, Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare technical presentations, reports and benchmarking studies for management review.
- Support the design team in delivering drawings, specifications and cost estimates within defined quality and project timelines.

Working Conditions:

- Travel requirement: Approximately 25-30%.
- Role involves an office-based working environment with regular exposure to the manufacturing plant/shop floor during design reviews, product launches and technical activities.
