Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager / Customer Liaison Officer to drive business growth, nurture key institutional relationships, and lead customer liaison activities across Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force), DRDO laboratories, and private defense and aerospace industries.
The ideal candidate will bridge technical offerings and customer needs, navigating defense procurement protocols (DAP/DPP), indigenization pathways, and vendor registration frameworks to secure contracts, joint development programs, and long-term supply partnerships.
Key Responsibilities1.
Customer
Liaison & Institutional Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact and official liaison officer between Lotus Advance Technologies and key stakeholders across DPSUs (e.g., HAL, BEL, BDL), DRDO labs, Indian Armed Forces Directorates (Indigenisation, Capability Development), and Tier-1 private defense OEMs.
- Establish, maintain, and expand a strong network with project directors, procurement heads, user directorates, and technical evaluation committees.
- Track project lifecycles, operational requirements, and upcoming Indigenization / Make in India projects across defense platforms.

Business
Development & Strategic Growth
- Identify, target, and capture recent business opportunities in defense electronics, cockpit displays, tactical systems, and contract manufacturing services.
- Monitor defense tenders, RFIs, RFPs, EOI notifications across government procurement portals (GeM, CPPP, DPSU e-procurement platforms) and manage end-to-end bid submission workflows.
- Organize and lead technical presentations, product demonstrations, and strategic capability briefings for end-users and procurement officers.
- Represent the company at major defense expos, seminars, indigenization meets, and industry forums (e.g., DefExpo, Aero India).

Procurement & Compliance Navigation
- Navigate defense procurement procedures, including the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP), Make-I/II/IIIcategories, and iDEX/ADITI schemes.
- Coordinate vendor onboarding, registration, vendor rating maintenance, and pre-qualification processes across various DPSUs and Ministry of Defence agencies.
- Assist in drafting commercial proposals, compliance matrices, and technical response documentation in alignment with customer specifications.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with internal Design, Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure customer requirements, qualification standards (e.g., MIL-STD, AS9100), and delivery timelines are clearly understood and executed.
- Provide continuous feedback on market trends,
competitor strategies, and customer technology roadmaps to internal leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related disciplines) required.
- MBA / Master’s in Marketing, International Business, or Strategic Management is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- 5–8 years of proven business development, account management, or customer liaison experience within the Indian Defense & Aerospace sector.
- Prior experience working directly with DPSUs (HAL, BEL, etc.), DRDO labs, and Armed Forces Directorates is essential.
- Ex-Servicemen (Short Service Commissioned / Retd. Officers from Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force) with relevant technical/procurement background will be given strong preference.

- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian defense procurement policies (DAP/DPP), indigenization pathways, GeM portal workflows, and defense qualification standards.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional networking, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Communication & Presentation: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; capability to present technical concepts persuasively to non-technical and executive audiences.
- Negotiation & Strategic Selling: Strong deal-closing capability, commercial acumen, and consultative selling approach.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently to military stations, DPSU units, DRDO establishments, and defense hubs across India.
