1. Role Purpose
Responsible for end-to-end supply chain activities covering material planning, item-wise procurement, OEM components and equipment spares, supplier management, inventory control, logistics and timely material availability for production, projects and customer requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Manage material planning and procurement based on BOM,production plans, project schedules and customer requirements.
- Handle Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;), Raw Materials, Bought-Out Items, OEM Machineries & Equipment Spares, and Consumables.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate commercial terms and release Purchase Orders.
- Monitor PO acknowledgement, committed delivery dates, expediting and material receipt until closure.
- Ensure availability of critical, long-lead and project-specific materials without affecting production or project schedules.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, QA/QC, Stores, Finance and Logistics for material requirements and issue resolution.
- Develop, evaluate and maintain suppliers and alternate sources for critical materials.
- Monitor GRN/MRN, inspection, rejection, replacement and supplier corrective actions.
- Control inventory through minimum/maximum/reorder levels and monitor slow-moving, non-moving and excess stock.
- Manage domestic procurement, transportation, shipment tracking and EXIM activities wherever applicable.
- Drive cost reduction, supplier performance improvement, inventory optimization and continuity of supply.

4. OEM Components Specific Responsibility
- Identify OEM or authorized/approved sources for machine-specific components and critical equipment spares.
- Verify OEM part numbers, technical specifications,
revision details and compatibility before PO release.
- Maintain an OEM component catalogue for part number, equipment reference, supplier, lead time and criticality.
- Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance for technical confirmation and approved alternatives.
- Plan advance procurement for long-lead OEM components to avoid equipment or production downtime.
- Ensure genuine/approved components are procured where OEM warranty, validation, safety or performance requirements apply.
- Track warranty, replacement, service support and after-sales commitments for OEM-supplied items.
5. Inventory & Stores Coordination
- Maintain optimum stock levels for critical, regular and consumable materials.
- Define and review minimum, maximum and reorder levels.
- Monitor stock ageing, slow-moving, non-moving, excess and obsolete materials.
- Coordinate material receipt, GRN/MRN, inspection, identification, storage and issue status.
- Conduct periodic stock reconciliation and support inventory accuracy.
6. Supplier & Performance Management
- Supplier development, qualification and alternate source development.
- Evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness and service support.
- Monitor supplier OTD, rejection rate, lead time and corrective actions.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery, warranty and commercial conditions.

8. Overall Responsibility Ensure the RIGHT MATERIAL, CORRECT QUANTITY & QUALITY, AT RIGHT TIME AT APPROPRIATE COST, while maintaining supply continuity and avoiding production/project delays.
