Role & responsibilities The Senior Manager Finance will be responsible for strengthening NAMTECHs financial governance, controllership, planning and reporting framework. The role will oversee financial operations, budgeting, statutory compliance, management reporting, cash-flow management, audits and internal controls while partnering closely with senior leadership.
The incumbent should combine solid hands-on finance expertise with the ability to lead a team, improve processes and leverage ERP/digital tools to build a robust and scalable finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controllership & Accounting
- Lead end-to-end accounting and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure.
- Review general ledger, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, fixed assets and other key financial schedules.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of books of accounts and financial statements.
- Establish strong financial controls, SOPs, approval matrices and maker-checker mechanisms.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trails across financial transactions.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & MIS
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting in coordination with academic and functional departments.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide detailed variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly management MIS, cash-flow forecasts, dashboards and financial performance reports for senior leadership/CFO.
- Provide financial insights to support management decision-making, resource allocation and cost optimization.
- Develop department-wise financial KPIs and improve management reporting.
CAPEX & Financial Governance
- Manage financial oversight of CAPEX projects, including budget monitoring, utilization,
capitalization and variance tracking.
- Review major commercial proposals, purchase commitments and financial implications of contracts.
- Partner with Procurement and other functions to strengthen financial controls around purchases and vendor payments.
- Monitor institutional expenditure and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Taxation, Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate applicable ROC and corporate compliance requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage statutory, internal and other financial audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Maintain audit-ready financial records, schedules and supporting documentation.
- Monitor regulatory developments impacting the institution's financial operations.
Treasury & Cash-Flow Management
- Prepare and monitor short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.
- Manage banking relationships, fund utilization and liquidity requirements.
- Monitor receivables, payables and working capital.
- Ensure effective payment controls and appropriate authorization of financial transactions.
ERP, Digitization & Process Excellence
- Drive effective utilization and continuous improvement of the ERP/financial management system.
- Identify opportunities for automation across accounting, reconciliations,
MIS, budgeting and compliance.
- Develop standardized finance processes, dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
- Lead finance process improvement initiatives to improve accuracy, controls and turnaround time.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor and develop the Finance & Accounts team and establish clear accountability and performance standards.
- Partner effectively with HR, Procurement, Administration, Academic functions, IT and other stakeholders.
- Support senior leadership/CFO with financial analysis and decision-making.
- Present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of financial discipline, transparency, compliance and ethical decision-making.
Preferred candidate profile
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 1015 years of post-qualification/relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, including meaningful experience in a finance leadership or controllership role.
- Strong experience in financial accounting, month-end closure, budgeting, forecasting, MIS and financial analysis.
- Hands-on knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation and other Indian statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong exposure to statutory/internal audits, internal controls and risk management.
- Experience in CAPEX accounting/monitoring, cash-flow management and financial planning.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; exposure to SAP/Oracle or similar enterprise finance platforms would be preferred.
- Experience in education, technology, manufacturing or not-for-profit/institutional environments would be advantageous.
- Experience managing and developing a finance team is essential.
