About the Role The Australian Desk is a growing practice within the firm. The right candidate will start with core compliance delivery and, over time, take on higher-value advisory work — SMSF strategy, tax planning, and cross-border coordination — with scope to help shape and eventually lead the desk as it expands.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation and review of Australian individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns




- Preparation and lodgement of BAS (Business Activity Statements) including GST reconciliations
- End-to-end SMSF (Self-Managed Super Fund) work — documentation, financial statements, annual returns, and compliance
- Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and periodic management reporting on Xero
- Ensuring adherence to ATO deadlines and Australian compliance standards
- Coordinating with onshore teams/clients on queries and workpaper reviews

Required Experience & Skills

- Hands-on experience in Australian taxation
- Proficiency in BAS / GST filing
- Working knowledge of SMSF documentation, filing, and compliance
- Experience with Xero (Xero certification or Xero Tax experience MANDATORY FOR THIS JOB ROLE)
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting and compliance frameworks
- Valuable written and verbal communication for direct client/onshore coordination

Preferred Qualifications

- CA / CA-Inter / CPA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent
- Prior experience in an outsourcing / KPO firm servicing Australian clients
