Senior Finance Consultant – JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1)
Role Summary
The Senior Finance Consultant – JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) is part of the IT Enterprise Applications & Digital Solutions function and is responsible for providing senior-level functional expertise, application support, and solution delivery across JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Finance and related business processes across all Organisation sites.
The role serves as a key link between Finance, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners, ensuring that JD Edwards E1 solutions effectively support financial operations, statutory requirements, internal controls, reporting, and evolving business needs.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Finance Support & Operations
- Provide senior-level functional support for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Fixed Assets
- Job Costing
- Procurement
- Sales Order Management
- Financial and management reporting
- Analyze and resolve complex functional and application-related incidents, service requests, and recurring system issues.
- Ensure issues are resolved within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and business priorities.
- Act as a senior escalation point for critical and high-impact E1 Finance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend sustainable corrective and preventive solutions.
- Support and monitor batch processes, interfaces, integrations, reporting activities, and other business-critical E1 processes.
- Work closely with technical teams to troubleshoot application, interface, data, and configuration issues.
- Ensure configuration changes are appropriately tested, documented, approved, and deployed.
- Finance Process & Functional Consulting
- Partner with Finance teams to understand business processes, pain points, control requirements, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable JD Edwards E1 solutions.
- Provide functional guidance and recommendations based on E1 capabilities, accounting principles, and industry best practices.
- Support optimization of financial processes, including period-end closing, reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, statutory reporting, and financial controls.
- Assess the impact of proposed business or system changes across upstream and downstream processes.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and harmonize processes across Organisation sites.
- System Enhancements, Change Management & Testing
- Analyze enhancement requests and prepare functional requirements and solution designs.
- Initiate and support formal Change Control processes for E1 enhancements and configuration changes.
- Prepare functional specifications and work closely with developers and technical consultants on solution delivery.
- Develop test scenarios and coordinate:
- Unit testing
- System integration testing
- User acceptance testing (UAT)
- Regression testing
- Validate solutions before production deployment and provide post-go-live support.
- Ensure changes comply with IT governance, documentation, validation, and control requirements.
- User Training, Knowledge Management & Enablement
- Conduct structured JD Edwards E1 training for new joiners and existing business users across Finance and related functional areas.
- Develop and maintain user guides, process documentation, functional procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles.
- Provide ongoing coaching and functional guidance to business users.
- Promote effective use of E1 functionality and reinforce system and process best practices.
- Support knowledge transfer within the E1 support team to reduce dependency on individual resources.
- Develop and maintain customized ReportsNow reports based on business requirements to improve reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
- Service Management & Incident Resolution
- Ensure incidents and service requests are properly logged, tracked, documented, and resolved through the TrackIT service management platform.
- Analyze functional and system-related issues raised through IT service tickets.
- Prioritize incidents according to business impact, urgency, and service expectations.
- Coordinate resolution activities across business users, IT teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.
- Maintain clear communication with users throughout incident investigation and resolution.
- Identify recurring ticket trends and recommend process or system improvements to reduce future incidents.
- Stakeholder & Business Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted E1 Finance functional advisor to Finance and other business stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships with Finance, Procurement, Sales, IT, site teams, management, and external partners.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops and translate business requirements into functional E1 solutions.
- Communicate system changes, project progress, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Support governance meetings, application reviews, project reviews, and prioritization discussions.
- Provide functional recommendations to management to support informed decision-making.
- Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
- Support internal and external audits related to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, including audits performed by external auditors such as PwC.
- Prepare and provide required system documentation, evidence, reports, and explanations in response to audit requests.
- Support evaluation of application controls, user access, segregation of duties, change management, and financial process controls.
- Identify control weaknesses or compliance gaps and support remediation activities through closure.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready functional and process documentation.
- Ensure E1 solutions and changes comply with company policies, financial controls, IT governance, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Projects, Upgrades & Strategic Initiatives
- Participate in and lead functional workstreams for JD Edwards E1 projects, upgrades, implementations, integrations, and business transformation initiatives.
- Support projects involving statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS, tax, and local financial compliance requirements.
- Perform fit-gap analysis, process design, configuration, testing, data validation, and deployment support.
- Support E1 upgrade planning, impact assessments, testing, and post-upgrade stabilization.
- Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and solution providers, including Oracle partners and integrated application vendors.
- Work with connected platforms and applications such as PBCS, Rillion, reporting solutions, and other enterprise systems.
- Contribute to the JD Edwards E1 application roadmap and continuous improvement strategy.
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, standardization, and operational efficiency.
- Reporting, Data & Financial Analysis
- Support development and improvement of operational and financial reports within and around JD Edwards E1.
- Develop ReportsNow reports and data extracts based on business requirements.
- Assist business users in validating financial and operational data.
- Investigate data discrepancies and work with relevant teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Support reporting improvements that enhance transparency, control, and business decision-making.
- Team Collaboration & Functional Leadership
- Provide functional guidance and mentoring to E1 support team members and junior consultants.
- Support knowledge-sharing sessions and structured knowledge transfer across the team.
- Review functional solutions, documentation, and test results where required.
- Support the Manager in prioritization of Finance-related support activities and project requirements.
- Participate in interviews, onboarding, and training of new E1 team members when required.
- Provide backup and support to the E1 Manager on key functional topics and business-critical activities.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Qualified Finance/Accounting qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience:
- Extensive qualified experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, with significant hands-on experience in Finance modules.
- Typically, 10+ years of relevant ERP/JD Edwards experience, including senior functional consulting or application support responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Finance processes in a multinational or multi-site environment.
- Experience delivering E1 implementations, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and statutory changes.
- Experience working with IT service management and formal Change Control processes.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or regulated-industry experience would be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne upgrades and modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, VAT, tax, and other statutory/localization requirements.
- Experience with Oracle ecosystem solutions and integration partners.
- Experience with PBCS, Rillion, ReportsNow, or similar enterprise applications.
- Experience working in a validated, controlled, or regulated IT environment.
- Exposure to process automation, digital transformation, and ERP optimization initiatives.
