Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose The Engineering Executive will be responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient functioning of electrical maintenance activities at the Soap & Detergent Manufacturing Unit. The role involves preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown management, electrical safety and statutory compliance, utility and energy management, spare parts planning, contractor management, and continuous improvement of electrical systems.

The position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, leadership skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Soap, Detergent or FMCG manufacturing.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional certification or training in Engineering Management or Manufacturing Operations will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 7-8 years of experience in engineering/maintenance management in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Soap, Detergent or FMCG manufacturing will be preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and process optimization in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience in implementing and overseeing large engineering projects will be desirable.
- Strong knowledge of production line equipment, automation systems and mechanical/electrical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities A. Electrical Maintenance

- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HT/LT panels, MCC, PCC, transformers, motors, starters, VFDs, control panels, DG sets, compressors and other electrical equipment.
- Attend electrical breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Identify recurring electrical problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment condition and recommend replacement/upgradation wherever required.
- Ensure proper maintenance of electrical distribution systems, cables, earthing and electrical installations.
- Maintain electrical systems of production lines, utilities and other plant facilities.

B. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of PM activities as per defined frequency.
- Maintain PM checklists, equipment history cards and maintenance records.
- Monitor parameters such as current, voltage,



temperature, insulation resistance, vibration and other relevant electrical parameters.
- Identify potential failures through condition monitoring and take corrective action proactively.

C. Breakdown Management

- Attend electrical breakdowns on priority to minimize production losses.
- Analyze breakdowns and identify root causes.
- Prepare breakdown reports and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor MTBF and MTTR and work towards continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Production and Mechanical Maintenance teams for quick restoration of equipment.

D. Electrical Safety & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements, factory requirements and statutory regulations.
- Ensure proper earthing, electrical protection systems and safety devices are maintained.
- Ensure protected working practices during electrical maintenance activities.
- Implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance work.
- Ensure proper identification and maintenance of electrical panels, cables and equipment.
- Support statutory inspections and audits related to electrical installations.
- Maintain required electrical safety records and certificates.

E. Utilities & Energy Management

- Monitor electrical consumption and identify opportunities for energy saving.
- Monitor power factor and ensure efficient utilization of electrical energy.
- Coordinate maintenance of DG sets, compressors, pumps and other electrical utilities.
- Monitor transformer loading and overall plant electrical load.
- Support initiatives for reduction of electricity consumption and avoid unnecessary energy losses.

F. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

- Identify critical electrical spare parts and ensure adequate availability.
- Prepare spare requirements based on consumption and criticality.
- Maintain optimum stock levels for critical spares.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely availability of maintenance materials.




- Ensure proper utilization and control of maintenance spares.

G. Contractor & Manpower Management

- Supervise electrical maintenance contractors and technicians.
- Ensure contractors follow company safety procedures and work instructions.
- Allocate daily maintenance jobs and monitor completion.
- Verify the quality of maintenance work carried out by contractors.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment for planned and breakdown maintenance activities.

Submit daily, weekly and monthly maintenance reports to the reporting manager.
