Role: Senior Datadog Engineer

Required Skills and Experience

- 6+ years of experience in application monitoring, observability, DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, integration engineering, or production support engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on Datadog implementation experience in enterprise production environments.
- Strong expertise in Datadog APM, distributed tracing, log management, dashboards, monitors, metric queries, tagging, service catalog, service maps, SLOs, and alerting workflows.
- Experience instrumenting Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar services using Datadog libraries, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent instrumentation approaches.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, asynchronous processing, event-driven architecture, message queues, and cloud-native platforms.
- Experience monitoring Salesforce and its integrations, including APIs, platform events, integration error patterns, scheduled jobs, and related operational telemetry.
- Experience with OMS and WMS platforms, custom order-management applications,



fulfillment systems, warehouse systems, or logistics integrations.
- Strong understanding of retail or CPG order-to-cash, order-to-fulfillment, omnichannel commerce, inventory, allocation, shipment, returns, and exception-management processes.
- Experience with one or more integration platforms or technologies such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS/SNS, REST, SOAP, or EDI.
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases and monitoring query performance, job failures, and data-processing bottlenecks.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or serverless services.
- Solid scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, YAML, JSON, or Datadog APIs.
- Ability to translate business and operational requirements into measurable telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and SLOs.
