Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server (Windows Workplace), SQL Engineering, Performance Tuning, HA/DR Architecture, Data Modeling, Power BI Reporting & Dashboard Development

Minimum Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate / Data Engineer Associate are desirable.
- Proven expertise in Windows-based SQL Server architecture and performance engineering.

Job Duties:

- Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) on Windows Server environments.
- Design and architect enterprise-grade SQL Server database environments.
- Deep understanding of SQL Engine internals including TempDB, memory management, locking, blocking, and indexing strategies.
- Perform advanced query tuning and execution plan optimization.
- Handle large-scale databases (100GB to multi-terabyte environments).
- Design and implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication.
- Develop and manage backup and restore strategies aligned with RPO and RTO requirements.
- Conduct database performance baselining, monitoring, and proactive optimization.




- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Design database schema, normalization strategies, and data warehouse models (Star / Snowflake schema).
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS or equivalent tools.
- Build and optimize Power BI dashboards and executive-level reports.
- Perform data modeling and DAX optimization within Power BI.
- Integrate SQL Server data sources with Power BI and ensure report performance efficiency.
- Implement SQL Server security hardening, RBAC, TDE, encryption at rest and in transit.
- Ensure compliance, auditing, and data governance standards are maintained.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize database-dependent workloads.
- Maintain documentation for database architecture, DR procedures, and operational processes.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to database platforms and reporting solutions.

Skills Preferred:

- Deep expertise in SQL Server Engine architecture and performance tuning.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in Azure SQL / Hybrid SQL environments (preferred).
- Hands-on Power BI development experience with business-facing dashboards.
- Strong data modeling and BI understanding.
- Ability to independently own and manage mission-critical database systems.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
