Senior Associate, Transaction Services (Financial Due Diligence)

Location and work type: Kolkata, West Bengal (Hybrid)

Lead buy-side/sell-side FDD workstreams: analyze earnings quality, working capital, and key adjustments, and present findings to PE/VC clients.

Exbo Group is seeking an exceptional individual to join our growing Transaction Services team.

The Senior

Associate will play a key role throughout the acquisition diligence lifecycle, evaluating target company financials, identifying risks and accounting adjustments, and preparing comprehensive financial analyses and data books. The role involves direct interaction with target companies and presenting findings to Venture Capital and Private Equity clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a quick-paced, growing practice.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Financial Due Diligence (Buy Side & Sell Side)

- Assess the target's earnings and cash-flow quality and analyze the quality of assets and liabilities being acquired or assumed
- Evaluate and project the quality of working capital at the time of deal close
- Reclassification of key accounts in order to restate financials on a U.S. GAAP basis




- Proactively pursue business issues that impact the general ledger and evaluate the situation for acceptable solutions. Single-handedly own and communicate the path to resolution to the client.
- Provide written summary analysis and QoE around critical success factors, helping the acquirer improve its understanding of all the relevant issues so that an informed investment decision can be made.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

- CA/CPA with 3+ years of relevant experience in audit, assurance, or FDD (Financial Due Diligence) at a leading firm.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and key journal entries.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; ability to organize and present data effectively.
- Willingness to learn and use technology and automation tools such as VBA, Python, Tableau, or Alteryx.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong client-facing skills.
- Strong time management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset, with a willingness to explore new topics and develop solutions.
- Comfortable working with and advising a diverse range of growing companies.
