Role Purpose: Make Airtel future-ready by leading SCG’s security architecture agenda: anticipate emerging risk, set secure-by-design guardrails, shape reusable patterns, steer high-risk technology decisions, and incubate next-generation capabilities across digital, cloud, edge, AI, IoT, quantum, identity, API, and sovereign technology environments.

Future-Risk Mandate: Build architecture that keeps Airtel ahead of the next wave of cyber, technology, regulatory, and adversary risk.

- Look ahead: Track risk across technology, regulation, ecosystem dependencies, and attacker behavior.
- Translate early: Turn emerging risks into architecture positions, design guardrails, threat models, and investment choices.
- Stop security debt: Prevent reactive, fragmented, or late-stage security decisions from entering major programs.
- Design for what is next: Shape scalable controls across AI, identity, API, cloud, data, telecom, edge, quantum, and sovereign technology.

Desired Experience & Background:

- Experience: 15–18+ years across cyber security, security architecture, engineering, cloud/platform security, telecom, digital infrastructure, or technology risk; level calibrated by depth, influence, and leadership maturity.
- Leadership: Has led security teams or coordinated architects, engineers, platform-security initiatives, or enterprise design governance in complex environments.
- Preferred exposure: Telecom, hyperscale digital platforms, BFSI, critical infrastructure, cloud-native enterprises, product security, or large-enterprise cyber consulting.
- Future-risk breadth: Strong grounding in secure architecture,

threat modelling, identity, zero trust, AppSec, quantum security, AI security, API risk, supply-chain risk, cloud-native risk, and adversary-led innovation.
- Execution mindset: Converts strategy into blueprints, POCs, adoption paths, control outcomes, and business enablement.
- Credentials: CISSP, CCSP, cloud security certifications, or equivalent experience preferred; practical architecture credibility matters more than certification count.

Key Accountabilities:

- Future-risk radar: Anticipate material risks across AI, quantum, identity, supply chain, cloud-native platforms, APIs, telecom networks, sovereign technology, and adversary innovation; convert them into transparent architecture positions.
- Future-ready architecture: Define security architecture positions that make digital, enterprise, cloud, edge, IoT, AI, and emerging platforms resilient to risks that are still forming.
- Design guardrails: Define threat-led design gates, architecture review inputs, reference patterns, and reusable controls that prevent future security debt from entering major programs.
- Risk-led simplification: Rationalize controls, reduce tooling overlap,

and create reusable blueprints that improve resilience while lowering long-term complexity.
- Capability incubation: Run focused POCs for high-impact future-risk areas; define success criteria, validate fit-for-purpose, and support production adoption with operating teams.
- Operations handoff: Transition mature capabilities with named owners, runbooks, metrics, and control expectations.
- Strategic advisory: Advise technology, network, product, enterprise, cloud, regulatory, and leadership stakeholders on high-impact security design choices.

Critical Capabilities:

- Anticipatory judgement: Spots weak signals, separates hype from material risk, and turns future threats into practical architecture choices.
- Influence without control: Aligns platform, product, network, security, and business teams around common design decisions.
- Pattern thinking: Converts emerging-risk patterns into guardrails, blueprints, standards, and reusable building blocks before risks scale.
- Crisp communication: Explains complex architecture trade-offs in clear business language for senior stakeholders, regulators, and delivery teams.
- Team credibility: Builds an architecture team seen by engineering as practical, credible, and enabling.

Success Measures: Future-risk positions adopted in priority programs; reusable blueprints for AI, cloud, identity, API, edge, quantum, and sovereign use cases; lower late-stage security rework; faster POC-to-production conversion with operating teams; reduced control and tooling overlap; and stronger stakeholder confidence in SCG as a future-ready design partner.
