SEO Manager

Location: Malad , Mumbai, on-site only

Experience: 3 - 4 years

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturdays working. Alternate Saturday is WFH*

Team responsibility: Manage an in-office team of 1 -2 people

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on SEO Manager to lead SEO delivery across multiple client accounts. You will manage a small team of 1 – 2 people while personally contributing to strategy, content writing, technical SEO, reporting and client presentations.

The role covers traditional search as well as AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation). You should identify useful opportunities, implement practical improvements and measure results without making unsupported visibility claims.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the SEO team’s workload, deadlines, output quality and development.
- Audit websites and resolve issues involving crawlability, indexing, redirects, canonicals, site structure, mobile usability and performance.
- Research keywords, competitors, audience questions and search intent. Build keyword clusters and map them to relevant pages.
- Plan SEO-friendly website architecture, including sitemaps, page hierarchy, URL slugs and internal linking, before development begins.
- Write and optimise website pages, blogs, FAQs, metadata and other SEO content. Prepare briefs and edit work delegated to team members.
- Plan and execute on-page SEO, local SEO, relevant off-page activities, AEO and GEO improvements.
- Review website builds before launch, coordinate required fixes and verify SEO and analytics setup after launch.
- Set up and manage Google Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile and relevant SEO tools.
- Establish account baselines and prepare realistic monthly and quarterly projections for organic visibility,



traffic and enquiries, with assumptions clearly stated.
- Track KPIs including keyword visibility, impressions, clicks, CTR, average position, organic traffic, conversions and lead quality where data is available.
- Build dashboards, monthly reports and client-ready presentations covering performance, work completed, gaps and next priorities.
- Present SEO strategies, projections, progress and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with content, design, development and account teams to get recommendations implemented.

Must-have skills

- 3 - 4 years of hands-on SEO experience across technical, on-page, content and local SEO.
- Experience managing or supervising a small team while remaining hands-on.
- Strong content writing and editing skills, with samples of website or SEO content you have written yourself.
- Ability to plan keyword-to-page mapping and website structure based on search intent.
- Practical understanding of AEO and GEO, including answer-led content, entity and topic coverage, structured information and evaluation of search visibility.
- Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile and SEO research or audit tools.
- Ability to build performance baselines, projections, KPI trackers and clear client presentations.
- Working knowledge of indexing, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicals, redirects, structured data and internal linking.
- Strong analytical judgement, clear communication and reliable ownership across multiple accounts.

What success looks like

Client accounts have sound website structures, practical search-led content and prioritised SEO plans. Your team delivers accurate work on time. Reports and presentations show what changed against the baseline, how results compare with projections, and what actions will improve performance next.
