Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor will contribute to the academic mission of the university through high-quality teaching, research, and service. This role requires a commitment to engaging students and participating in departmental activities. The Assistant Professor will work closely with colleagues to foster a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment for both students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Instruction
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in undergraduate and/or graduate courses, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to foster a agile learning environment.
- Develop course materials, assessments, and lesson plans that align with program objectives and accreditation requirements.
- Advise and mentor students, guiding them in academic and career development.
2. Research and Scholarship
- Conduct original research in the candidate’s area of expertise,
contributing to the body of knowledge in the field.
- Publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present at conferences.
- Pursue research funding through grants and collaborative partnerships with academic, industry, or government organizations.
3. Service and Community Engagement
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and academic planning.
- Contribute to university committees, student organizations, and community outreach initiatives.
4. Professional Development
- Remain current with advancements in the field through continuous professional development and scholarly activities.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching and research skills.
