SAP Test Automation - Architect Manager (SAP, TOSCA & AI)

Experience : 9 to 15 years The SAP Test Automation - Architect Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for defining, architecting, and driving the SAP test automation strategy and implementation across enterprise SAP S/4HANA programs, with a strong focus on TOSCA (Tricentis). This role leads the design and deployment of robust, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks for SAP implementations, application managed services, and upgrade projects (including ECC to S/4HANA migrations), ensuring efficient and effective quality assurance across core SAP modules. Beyond owning the automation architecture, the role manages the end-to-end SAP testing lifecycle including test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and user acceptance testing while strategically exploring and integrating AI/GenAI capabilities to enhance test automation, such as intelligent test case generation, defect prediction, self-healing automation, and test data management.

This position requires a blend of hands-on SAP test automation expertise, a solid functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA, architectural leadership, strong test management discipline, and effective stakeholder communication, ensuring the continuous improvement and innovation of our SAP testing and automation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect, design, and implement enterprise-level SAP test automation frameworks and strategies, primarily leveraging TOSCA (Tricentis), across SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, and application managed services.
- Drive the adoption, optimization, and governance of TOSCA-based SAP automation across projects and teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and the reusability and maintainability of automated assets.
- Develop and own comprehensive SAP test strategies and plans covering functional, integration, regression, API, performance, and end-to-end business process testing across core S/4HANA modules such as MM, Procurement, SD, PP, and FICO.




- Automate critical SAP business processes (BPML-driven) and build scalable, data-driven automated regression suites to accelerate SAP release and upgrade cycles.
- Establish and manage SAP test data management (TDM) and coordinate test setting, data, and configuration readiness with functional and technical teams.
- Lead and mentor a team of SAP test engineers and automation specialists, providing technical guidance, and coordinate testing activities across SAP modules and integration points.
- Conduct defect triage meetings, manage the defect lifecycle to closure, and ensure timely resolution and retesting.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and partner with business users to validate results against business requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., test automation, performance testing, change impact analysis, and service virtualization).
- Manage stakeholder communication across project managers, SAP functional consultants, developers, and business analysts, aligning testing activities with project and quality goals.
- Stay abreast of emerging SAP technologies, test automation trends, AI, and generative AI, advocating for their strategic adoption where beneficial.

AI & GenAI Application in Testing Skills:

- Understanding of how AI/ML can be applied to optimize SAP test processes, such as intelligent test selection, defect prediction, self-healing automation, and anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with concepts like prompt engineering and RAG pipelines for generating SAP test data, test cases, or test scripts using GenAI.
- Ability to evaluate, integrate,



and champion the adoption of AI-driven testing tools and platforms to improve efficiency and coverage across SAP landscapes.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation, with at least 3-5 years in a Test Automation Architect, Lead, or Test Management role.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with TOSCA Testsuite, including deep expertise in TDM, API testing, UI automation, and CI/CD integration — preferably automating SAP applications.
- Strong functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA end-to-end functionality, integration points, and data workflows, with working knowledge of at least 2-3 core modules such as MM, Procurement, SD, PP, or FICO.
- Experience testing SAP implementations, application managed services, and upgrade/migration projects; ECC to S/4HANA experience is a strong plus.
- 2+ years of experience applying AI/ML concepts to enhance test automation, intelligent testing, or quality engineering processes.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing end-to-end SAP test automation and test management strategies for complex enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- SAP module certification (SD/MM/FICO/PP) and relevant testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Tricentis TOSCA) are a plus.
