About the role The Senior AP Deployment Specialist serves as a dedicated Accounts Payable Operations representative assigned full time to the global invoice intake and processing transformation program. Acting as the AP Operations throughout the deployment lifecycle, the role supports discovery, process reviews, business requirement validation, testing, deployment readiness, go-live, hyper-care, and stabilization activities. The position operates separately from day-to-day Accounts Payable processing teams, allowing business-as-usual operations to remain focused on service delivery while dedicated AP deployment specialists support the transformation program full-time.
Working closely with country AP teams, the AP Process Transformation & AI Deployment Specialist, Change Management & Training Lead, project teams, and technology partners, the Senior AP Deployment Specialist helps ensure future-state solutions are practical, sustainable, compliant, and aligned with real-world AP operating requirements.
AP Business Ownership
- Throughout discovery, design validation, testing, deployment, hyper-care, and stabilization the AP operations activities
- Ensure documented requirements and configured solutions accurately reflect AP operational needs, controls, exception handling practices, and business requirements.
- Act as the primary working-level representative between AP Operations and the deployment program.
- Champion AP user readiness, operational adoption, and long-term sustainability of future-state processes.

Focus: Country Rollout & AP Deployment
What You’ll Do:
1. Discovery & Country Requirements
• Participate in country discovery workshops, process walkthroughs, and design discussions.
- Demonstrate and explain current-state AP processes, controls, approval of workflows, exception handling, and operational practices.
- Identify country-specific legal, tax, regulatory, compliance, language, and operational requirements.
- Validate that local requirements are correctly understood and documented.
- Assess operational impacts associated with proposed future-state processes.
2. Process Validation & Future-State Readiness
- Review and validate Process Design Documents (PDDs), business requirements, process flows, controls, exception scenarios, and operating procedures.
- Confirm that future-state processes accurately reflect AP operational requirements and business realities.
- Evaluate how future-state processes will be operated, supported, and governed by AP after deployment.
- Identify operational gaps, support requirements, ownership requirements, and adoption risks. • Validate that future-state solutions are scalable, sustainable, and practical for long-term AP operations.
3. Business Validation & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Develop end-to-end UAT scenarios and business test scripts based on real AP operational activities, controls, and exception handling requirements.
- Prepare and maintain required business test data.
- Execute UAT and validate solutions against approved business requirements.
- Confirm that business outcomes are achieved, not solely that system functions operate.
- Identify defects, process gaps, usability concerns, operational impacts, and business risks.
- Support defect triage, retesting, and business sign-off activities. SIT ownership: System Integration Testing is performed by the implementation and development teams. The Senior AP Deployment Specialist focuses on business validation and UAT activities.
4. Deployment Readiness & Go-Live Support
- Support deployment planning, readiness assessments, cutover activities, and country go-live preparations.
- Confirm operational readiness across users, controls, work instructions, exception handling procedures, and support processes.
- Coordinate deployment of readiness activities with country AP teams.
- Validate user preparedness and operational readiness before deployment.
- Support business go-live activities and the transition into production operations.
5. Hypercare & Stabilization
- Act as an AP User during go-live and hyper-care activities.
- Support issue identification, investigation, prioritization, escalation, and resolution.
- Monitor user adoption, operational effectiveness, exception trends, and process performance. • Support the transition from project deployment to steady-state AP ownership and operations. • Validate that AP teams are fully prepared to own and sustain future-state processes.
6. AP Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve process effectiveness, user experience, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement activities for future deployment waves.
- Promote the adoption of standardized global processes across countries.
- Support AP adoption of intelligent automation and future AI-enabled capabilities.
- Provide operational feedback to guide future solution enhancements and country rollouts.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay, Shared Services, Finance Operations, or AP transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of invoice processing, approvals, exception management, controls, and payment of readiness processes.
- Experience participating in UAT, deployment, go-live, hyper-care, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across global teams and multiple countries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience supporting ERP, invoice processing, workflow, or automation deployments.
- Exposure to intelligent document processing, workflow automation, RPA, or AI-enabled finance solutions.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country transformation programs.
- Experience in Shared Services or Global Business Services organizations.
