Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on SAP Event Management (SAP EMS) Configuration & Implementation Consultant with 5–7 years of overall SAP experience and at least 3 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in SAP Event Management (EMS).

In this role, you will lead end-to-end SAP EMS configuration, rule-based process setup, customisation, and system integration across complex enterprise landscapes (SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and third-party systems).

Important Note for Applicants: This is an implementation- and configuration-heavy role. Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in hands-on EMS configuration (master data, event handler types, rule sets, workflows, alerts, and notifications) and integration touchpoints (IDocs, RFCs, APIs, SAP CPI).

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-End EMS Configuration: Lead and execute full lifecycle SAP EMS configuration, customisation, and deployment aligned with business and supply chain/logistics requirements.
- Core EMS Setup: Configure EMS master data, Event Handlers (EH), Event Message processing, Rule Sets, Parameters, Workflows, Alerts, and Exception-Handling frameworks.
- Event & Rule Processing: Design and build event-handling logic, milestone tracking, and rule-based processing logic to monitor operational processes in real time.
- Integration & Touchpoints: Configure and support functional integration points connecting SAP EMS with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and third-party applications using IDocs, RFCs, APIs, and SAP CPI.
- System Fine-Tuning: Perform system optimisation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for complex event-processing scenarios.




- Full Lifecycle Delivery: Actively participate in requirements gathering, solution design, functional spec creation, unit/integration testing, cutover, deployment, and hypercare support.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business teams, cross-functional SAP consultants (SD, MM, TM, LE), technical developers (ABAP), and integration middleware teams.

Key Qualifications & Technical Requirements

- Overall Experience: 5–7 years of overall SAP functional/technical experience.
- Relevant EMS Experience: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience in SAP Event Management (SAP EMS).
- Core Technical Knowledge:
- Deep expertise in SAP EMS Master Data, Event Types, and Event Handler Types.
- Practical experience with EMS Rule Framework, Conditions, and Functions.
- Hands-on setup of Alerts, Notifications, Workflows, and Status Management.
- Integration Expertise: Solid functional understanding of IDocs, RFC interfaces, REST/SOAP APIs, and SAP Cloud Integration (CPI).
- SAP Platform Knowledge: Solid familiarity with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Problem Solving & Communication: Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience on greenfield/brownfield SAP S/4HANA transformation projects.
- Experience integrating SAP EMS with external logisitics/supply chain tracking systems.
- Experience configuring complex supply chain event monitoring (e.g., Track & Trace, Transportation Management integration).
