Objective of the position In our Product Team – Business Intelligence – he/she together with the sub-team for “Datasphere&BDC;” take an active role in platform operation as well as in specification, design, implementation of complex software components in the business intelligence environment mainly based on SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Data Cloud.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
He/she will work on a combination of the below topics in an environment responsible for operations and development
· As part of a self-organized team he/she and the team colleagues are responsible to ensure smooth service operation of the platform in the area of responsibility. This includes quality assurance as well as running regular maintenance task, quality assurance measures, test activities, and housekeeping.
· He/she consults on (technical) questions in context of the platforms, create concepts, specifications based on technical requirements for projects as well as for change requests in cooperation with the internal stakeholders
· He She is doing software developments on their own, but also take over the management of developments in cooperation with internal colleagues or external service providers
· Quality Assurance which includes code review, gatekeeping, creating, and maintaining rules and guidelines, giving best practices and consultancy to projects (developing applications or data products)
Education:
Degree in business informatics, business administration with a focus on IT or computer science with a focus on business administration (diploma/bachelor/master) Alternatively,
he/she has a comparable completed vocational training with several years of IT experience in various functions
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ related working experience
- at least 8 years of professional experience.
In candidates’ professional career he/she has at least 2 years of practical (hands-on) experience in SAP Datasphere(SAP Data Warehouse Cloud) plus min 2 years of SAP Business Warehouse (BW/4HANA oder 7.5 for HANA)
Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms and data engineering technologies such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Apache Spark, or similar solutions is considered a strong advantage. Familiarity with data lake house architectures, large-scale data processing, and integration of data products across enterprise data ecosystems will support BASF's strategic data and analytics initiatives.
Technical & Professional Knowledge
1. In addition to the pronounced technical inclination, he/she has a strong interest in understanding the skilled background and running platforms withing BASF concept of a central data platform.
2. He/she likes to work in an international team and have good analytical skills as well as a high level of service and customer orientation experiencing agile ways of working
