Core ABAP Development
- Perform complex ABAP programming, testing and debugging for the implementation and support of SAP HR modules.
- Build and maintain classical and ALV reports, custom transactions, module pool programs and background jobs.
- Develop enhancements using user exits, customer exits, BAdIs and enhancement spots without disturbing standard SAP behaviour.
- Write conversion and data-load programs (BDC, LSMW, BAPI-based) for migrating legacy data into SAP.
- Design and build output documents using SAPscript, Smart Forms and Adobe Forms.
- Develop OData services and APIs to expose SAP HR data to Fiori, portal and third-party consumers.
- Apply and regression-test OSS notes; analyse SAP notes for relevance and impact before implementation.
- Optimise program performance and follow SAP coding standards, naming conventions and security guidelines.
HR / Payroll Domain Work
- Work across SAP HR modules Payroll (PY), Organizational Management (OM), Personnel Administration (PA) and Time Management (TM).
- Build HR-specific objects: infotype enhancements, custom infotypes, dynamic actions, payroll and time reporting using logical databases and HR macros.
- Support payroll cycles, statutory reporting and period-end activities from the technical side.
- Develop payroll postings, bank file, statutory and third-party interfaces.
Integration &
- Interfaces
- Design and build interfaces using BAPIs, RFCs, ALE and IDOCs, including configuration, monitoring and error handling.
- Build and support integrations between SAP HR and downstream systems (FI, time-capture systems, perks and vendor platforms).
- Handle file-based and API-based integrations with appropriate reconciliation and exception reporting.
Analysis, Quality &
- Delivery
- Apply SAP ASAP / Activate methodology across the project lifecycle.
- Use structured principles and techniques of systems analysis, design and testing.
- Prepare technical specifications, develop test data, execute unit and integration testing, and support UAT.
- Identify the critical elements of application problems, evaluate data, determine solutions and make logical, well-reasoned recommendations.
- Manage transports, version control and deployment across the landscape with proper documentation.
Collaboration &
- Enablement
- Interface with functional consultants and business analysts to ensure business processes and procedures are correctly translated into technical solutions.
- Train and support system users effectively; prepare user guides and handover documentation.
- Provide production support, root-cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring issues.

- Experience
Must Have
- SAP ABAP core — 4–6 years hands-on: Reports (classical/ALV), Dialog programming, BDC/LSMW, Enhancements (BAdI, user exits), SAPscript, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms.
- SAP HR modules — working knowledge of PY, OM, PA and TM, including HR-specific ABAP (infotypes, logical databases, HR macros, payroll clusters).
- Integration — BAPI, RFC, ALE and IDOC configuration and development.
- OData / API — building and consuming OData services and REST APIs from SAP.
- Data conversion — proven experience converting data from legacy systems into SAP, ideally in HR or FI.
- AI-assisted development — practical familiarity with Cursor and Claude for coding, debugging and code review.
- OSS notes — identifying, applying and validating SAP notes.
- Methodology — SAP ASAP / Activate; structured systems analysis, design and testing.
- Functional grounding — understanding of HR and Payroll business processes.
Good to Have
- Web Dynpro ABAP and SAP Enterprise Portal development.
- BSP application development (not mandatory).
- SAP Fiori / UI5 exposure and CDS views.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SuccessFactors integration scenarios.
