Role Description The Resident Engineer/Highway Maintenance Engineer will oversee day-to-day highway maintenance activities, ensuring that construction and maintenance works comply with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include supervising site operations, coordinating with contractors and client representatives, monitoring project progress, and documenting site activities and reports. The role involves conducting inspections, assessing pavement and structural conditions, recommending maintenance interventions, and supporting feasibility and improvement studies for highway and related infrastructure. The position is full-time and based in Bengaluru in a hybrid model,
combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility.
The engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, support quality assurance processes, and contribute to continuous improvement in highway operations and asset management.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Highway Design and Highway Engineering for effective planning, review, and supervision of road and highway projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in Civil Engineering Design to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical standards for highway and bridge-related works.
- Candidates should possess experience in Feasibility Studies and Infrastructure Projects to evaluate alternatives, support project planning, and manage maintenance programs.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Relevant experience in highway maintenance, construction supervision, or resident engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of national and international highway standards, safety codes, and quality control practices.
- Ability to work on-site and remotely, manage multiple stakeholders, and prepare transparent technical reports and documentation.
- Proficiency with engineering software and MS Office tools; familiarity with asset management or pavement management systems is an advantage.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to safe and sustainable infrastructure delivery.
