Who This Role Is For

This is for a shielding materials person, someone who has spent years getting conductive pastes and coatings to stick to mould compound, plastics and metal and still hit their decibel targets after reflow, humidity and thermal cycling, and who wants to be the one who makes copper do it.

You will define the scope — which shielding products we build first, and for whom. You will build and lead a team of materials scientists, sit across the table from semiconductor packaging houses, electronics manufacturers, and defence and space programmes, and be accountable for whether copper shielding actually holds up on their lines and through their qualification.

What You'll Own

- Formulation and optimisation of copper-based shielding materials
- Rheology design and control
- Binder / adhesion promoter / additive system selection
- Cure and sintering window development

Team and customer

- Building and leading a team of materials scientists and application engineers
- Running joint development programmes with OSATs, electronics manufacturers, and defence,



space and EV electronics customers — trials on their lines, on their timelines, with their data
- Technical documentation, IP generation, and spec control

Eligibility

This role is strictly for people who have developed a shielding paste, ink or coating themselves and taken it through deployment on a customer's line. Formulation-only or process-only backgrounds will not be shortlisted.

- M.Tech / M.Sc / PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on development of conductive pastes, inks, coatings or adhesives for EMI shielding
- Demonstrated ownership of a shielding material that was qualified on a customer's line and reached production or pilot supply
- Direct working experience with at least one application route at production scale — spray coating, jet dispensing/trench fill, or printing

Positive to Have

- Package-level shielding experience at an OSAT, module maker or shielding materials
- Form-in-place conductive gaskets, conductive elastomers, or shielding coatings for plastic enclosures
- Defence/aerospace EMI requirements (MIL-STD-461, outgassing) or automotive EMC (CISPR 25)
- RF measurement literacy — you can set up a shielding-effectiveness measurement and interpret it
- Semiconductor package reliability practice (J-STD-020 preconditioning, JESD22 stress tests)
- Experience scaling a lab formulation into repeatable kilogram-scale production
- Patents or publications in conductive composites, sintering inks or EMI shielding
- Exposure to other metallization — solar, printed electronics, automotive glass
