Job Purpose

The Quality Check Manager is responsible for ensuring that garments meet S4U quality standards from the sample stage through bulk production and final dispatch. The role focuses on checking supplier samples, approving counter samples, ensuring final production matches the approved sample, guiding the QC team, and coordinating closely with merchandisers and production teams to resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

Sample & Counter Sample Control

- Check supplier samples for fabric, colour, measurements, stitching, fitting, embroidery/handwork, trims, accessories and finishing.
- Check and approve counter samples before bulk production starts.
- Maintain approved samples as the quality reference for production and final checking. Bulk Production Matching
- Ensure final production is a close replica of the approved sample/counter sample in design, colour, fabric, measurements, stitching, embroidery/handwork, trims and finishing.
- Identify any differences between the approved sample and bulk production and ensure corrections are made immediately.
- Check garment measurements and ensure they remain within approved tolerance. QC Team Guidance
- Guide and supervise the QC team on the checking points for each style.
- Brief QC team members on the approved sample and quality requirements before production checking begins.
- Conduct/supervise inline, mid-production and final quality checks.
- Train the QC team to identify defects correctly and improve checking accuracy. Merchandising & Production Coordination
- Coordinate closely with merchandisers regarding sample approvals, measurement details, quality requirements, changes, corrections and production issues.
- Work with Production, Sampling, Finishing and Packing teams to resolve quality concerns quickly.



• Escalate recurring or major quality issues to the concerned team and management. Final Quality & Dispatch
- Ensure defective garments are corrected before final packing.

- Stitching defects: open seams, uneven stitching, puckering, skipped / broken stitches and loose threads. • Fabric issues: stains, holes, damage, shade variation, printing defects or colour mismatch.
- Embroidery / handwork defects, incorrect placement or missing work. • Incorrect measurements, fitting, trims, accessories, labels or finishing.
- Repeated defects and their root causes; ensure corrective action is implemented. Team Management
- Manage and guide the QC team on a daily basis and assign styles / production lots to team members.
- Review QC performance, checking accuracy and discipline.
- Conduct regular quality discussions with QC, merchandising and production teams. Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, stitching, measurements and fitting.

Positive understanding of fabric, embroidery, printing, handwork, trims and finishing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to compare samples with bulk production accurately.
- Good team-handling, coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify quality issues quickly and ensure timely corrective action.
