Job Title

Quality Assurance & Quality Control Supervisor – Food Industry

Purpose of the Role To ensure that all food products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards by implementing effective QA/QC systems, monitoring production processes, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Quality Assurance (QA)

Implement and maintain FSMS (Food Safety Management System) such as HACCP, BRCGS, IFS, ISO 22000.

Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and export standards.

Prepare and manage SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation.

Handle internal audits, external audits, and certifications.

Drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for non-conformities.

Ensure proper labeling compliance and traceability systems.

- Quality Control (QC)

Supervise incoming, in-process, and finished product inspections.

Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and quality parameters.

Ensure proper sampling, testing, and product release procedures.

Review lab test results (microbiological, chemical, physical).

Control non-conforming products and ensure proper disposition.

- Production & Process Monitoring

Conduct GMP and hygiene inspections on shop floor.

Ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning schedules.

Monitor process parameters (temperature, time, pH, etc.).

Coordinate with production to maintain product consistency and yield.

- Team Management





Supervise and guide QA/QC inspectors and lab technicians.

Conduct training programs on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

Ensure discipline and adherence to procedures across shifts.

- Customer & Regulatory Coordination

Respond to customer complaints and technical queries.

Handle product complaints, root cause analysis, and CAPA closure.

Coordinate for customer audits and regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA).

- Documentation & Reporting

Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and audit reports.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.

Ensure proper record retention and document control.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRCGS, IFS, ISO 22000)

Positive understanding of microbiology and food processing

Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

Leadership and team handling ability

Attention to detail and decision-making skills

Good communication and audit handling skills

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field

3–8 years of experience in food industry QA/QC

Experience in export-oriented food processing units preferred

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Audit scores (BRCGS/IFS/customer audits)

Customer complaints & complaint closure time

Non-conformance reduction

Product rejection rate

Hygiene & GMP compliance score

On-time documentation and reporting
