Role Objective The Quality Assurance Manager owns the accuracy and US GAAP compliance of all client accounting and bookkeeping deliverables for one of our clients - a US-facing small-business accounting and bookkeeping services company - acting as the final review before delivery. The role combines rigorous quality control with capability-building: mentoring accountants, standardizing processes, and continuously raising the team's US GAAP proficiency to protect client trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain QA checklists, SOPs and control points covering general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- Perform final sign-off review of all client deliverables for accuracy, completeness and US GAAP compliance before delivery.
- Root-cause recurring errors and drive corrective/preventive actions; track quality metrics (error rates, rework, on-time delivery) and report to leadership and clients.
- Build and deliver structured US GAAP training, coach accountants, and maintain a knowledge base that standardizes treatment and process across the team.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex accounting questions and quality matters, and keep internal standards current with evolving US GAAP.
Must-Have Non-Negotiables
- Active, FULLY qualified CPA (US) or CA (India) only. CA-Inter, CA-Finalist,
semi-qualified or pursuing-CA candidates will not be considered - this is verified against your Education/qualification records, not just your headline.
- Deep, hands-on US GAAP expertise applied across full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping specifically for SMALL-BUSINESS US clients (not enterprise, not PE-backed mid-market, not large BPO conglomerates) - including real experience with inventory costing, fixed-asset revaluation and impairment losses, not NPO-only exposure.
- Direct, frequent interaction with the end US client - not through a subsidiary/BPO structure with only occasional (e.g. monthly) client contact, and not a pure individual-contributor back-office role.
- Genuine, reliable tenure - 8-12 years of relevant experience with no excessive job-hopping.
- Real leadership and mentoring experience - managing, training or coaching a team, not individual-contributor only.
- Hands-on command of QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero or Bill.com specifically - Sage Intacct, NetSuite and BlackLine experience does not substitute for this.
- Strong, fluent spoken English.
Qualifications
- Active CPA (US) or CA (India) - required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
Location: Work From Home / Hybrid (Gurugram, India). Office Timing: 16:00 to 01:00 hrs IST, Monday to Friday.
