We are looking for QA Engineer Civil for Substation Infrastructer AIS-GISfor UKPN from MNC Co of Gujarat

The QA Engineer (Civil) manages quality governance and civil infrastructure compliance across the lifecycle of UK Power Networks (UKPN) high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substation projects. This role ensures that all civil engineering assetsincluding Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS) compounds and Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) buildingsstrictly adhere to UKPN engineering standards, national regulatory policies, and UK health and safety laws

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering Governance

- Review civil design outputs for AIS compounds and GIS buildings, ensuring compliance with UKPN asset standards. Verify calculations and technical specifications for critical civil assets, including transformer bunds, equipment foundations, and high-voltage steel structures. Oversee compliance with cable containment systems (troughs/ducts), access roads, site drainage, and perimeter security fencing. Ensure all design work strictly aligns with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015) and UK Health & Safety legislation. [
- 2. Site Quality Control & Inspections
- Conduct regular on-site inspections of civil engineering milestones, including concrete pours, piling, structural steel erection, and waterproofing for GIS buildings.
- Monitor site material certification, ensuring all civil components (concrete mix designs, structural steel, aggregates) are fully traceable and tested.Collaborate with primary layout and electrical commissioning engineers to ensure seamless interface transitions between civil structures and HV electrical equipment.
- 3Audit & Vendor Management




- Plan and execute quality audits targeting civil contractors, subcontractors, and material manufacturers.Review third-party vendor drawings and structural manufacturing quality before parts are dispatched to the project site.Drive defect management using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and enforce Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to closure. [4. Handover & DocumentationVerify structural and civil handover documentation, including red-line drawings, concrete test cubes certificates, and structural integrity logs. Compile comprehensive quality data books and civil asset registers required for the final site handover to the UKPN Health and Safety FileTechnical Competencies & Qualifications

Education & Skilled Status

- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Quality Credentials: Minimum Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute (PCQI), or working toward Chartered Status (MCQI).Auditing Certification: Certified Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015. Experience & Knowledge
- (1)Substation Expertise: Strong civil engineering grasp of structural requirements, ground clearance boundaries, and layout variances between AIS and GIS frameworks.(2)UK Utility Standards: Proven experience working within the UK utility sector, major UK infrastructure projects, or UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) frameworks.(3) Digital Workflows: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, AutoCAD, or civil design verification software within a power transmission context.
