About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic technology team at BHIVE Workspace. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of comprehensive software testing experience, with a strong emphasis on automation across web and mobile platforms.

This role requires ownership of automation frameworks from inception to maintenance, ensuring high-quality software delivery through robust testing strategies. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in defining testing standards, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to uphold our commitment to excellence. The candidate should have a solid foundation in testing fundamentals, experience in designing scalable automation solutions, and the ability to independently drive quality initiatives across multiple product releases.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software testing, with at least 4 years dedicated to automation, is required. Proficiency in automation tools such as Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) for web testing and Appium for mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms is essential.

Experience in building automation frameworks from the ground up, coupled with strong scripting skills, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of API testing, database validation (SQL), and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, and experience with cloud-based testing environments such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs, are also important.

Additionally, excellent analytical, communication, and mentoring skills are necessary to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities Test Planning & Design: Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation strategies based on project requirements. Participate in requirement analysis, design reviews, and provide input on testability and automation feasibility. Determine which test cases should be automated versus manual testing and define regression scope for each release.

Automation Framework Ownership: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks utilizing Playwright and Appium. Establish and enforce coding standards, reusable utilities, and best practices to ensure maintainability. Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring scheduled runs, parallel execution, and detailed reporting.

Monitor suite health by investigating flaky tests, reducing execution time, and maintaining high pass rates. Execute tests on real devices and cross-browser environments such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.

Test Execution: Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and API testing on web and mobile applications. Convert manual test cases into automated scripts for high-value, repeatable scenarios.

Validate backend behaviors through API testing and database checks.

Defect Management: Collaborate with developers to reproduce, analyze, and resolve defects efficiently. Ensure accurate defect documentation, distinguish between genuine bugs and environment issues, and prioritize defect resolution to maintain product quality.

Reporting & Communication: Generate detailed test reports, automation coverage metrics, and quality dashboards. Communicate testing progress, risks, and release readiness to stakeholders and leadership effectively.

Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are met. Review automation code written by peers, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices, debugging, and testing fundamentals.
