Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA/QC Mechanical Engineer with 1–5 years of experience, preferably in steel fabrication, to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that fabrication and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out quality inspections of incoming materials, fabrication, welding, assembly and finished products.
- Inspect raw materials, plates, structural sections, pipes, fittings and other fabrication materials as per specifications.
- Review and verify material certificates, inspection reports and other quality documentation.
- Monitor fabrication activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
- Inspect fit-up, dimensions, alignment, welding and final fabrication quality.
- Coordinate with fabrication and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure welding activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and requirements.
- Verify welding consumables, storage conditions and traceability.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, quality records and non-conformance reports.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials and fabricated components.
- Participate in internal inspections, client inspections and third-party inspections when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable QA/QC procedures, drawings, codes and standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to quality inspections.
- Support continuous improvement of fabrication and quality-control processes.




- Follow company health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of experience in QA/QC or mechanical fabrication.
- Experience in steel fabrication / structural fabrication is preferred.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Good knowledge of dimensional inspection and quality-control procedures.
- Basic knowledge of NDT methods and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable fabrication standards and codes is desirable.
- Good computer skills, particularly MS Office and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with production and fabrication teams.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of WPS, PQR and WPQ/WQT.
- Familiarity with AWS, ASME, ASTM, EN/ISO or other applicable standards.
- Experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication projects.
- Experience coordinating with clients, consultants and third-party inspection agencies.
- Knowledge of welding inspection and weld visual inspection.
- Relevant QA/QC or welding inspection certification will be an advantage.

Work Setting The role will involve working in a steel fabrication/workshop environment and may require regular interaction with production, welding, fabrication, stores and project teams. The candidate should be willing to work at project sites or fabrication facilities as required. Preferred: Candidates with previous experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, mechanical fabrication or related industrial projects.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
