Profile: Purchase Executive

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing, paper, printing, packaging, chemical, coating, or textile industrial setting.
- Prior exposure to factory-based procurement (raw materials, consumables, spares, packaging) is preferred over pure trading/retail purchase experience.

Roles:
- Handle day-to-day purchase activities for raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, spares, maintenance items, and other approved requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Maintenance, QC, and Accounts to understand material requirements and delivery priorities.
- Source new suppliers and maintain a reliable vendor database.
- Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare comparison statements for management approval.
- Negotiate price, quality, credit terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with vendors.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) after receiving required approvals.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery as per committed schedules.
- Coordinate with Stores on material receipt and resolve shortages, damages, or documentation discrepancies.




- Coordinate with QC for incoming material inspection/approval where required.
- Maintain purchase records — quotations, comparison statements, POs, vendor details, and delivery status.
- Monitor pending POs and provide regular status updates to management.
- Support vendor evaluation based on quality, price, delivery performance, and service.
- Identify alternate suppliers and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with Accounts on invoice discrepancies and vendor payments.
- Procure paper-related raw materials, coating consumables/chemicals, packaging materials (for rolls/finished product), and spares for coating and slitter machines.
- Maintain lead-time visibility on critical materials to avoid production interruptions.
- Ensure all purchase activities follow company policy, approval workflows, and documentation standards.

Qualification:
- Graduate or Diploma in any relevant discipline.
- Preferred specialization: Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a technical/engineering field.
